Thanks for the kind words, E. I am already two months in, having made the irrefutable realization that my life is not what it can, or should be. It's going to be a long, tough road, but I'm going to do everything in my power to make that happen.

Don't hate, appreciate. :naaa:

I might sip some haterade or just chill out now... trying to control myself atm.

But I'll be back to see what's up and what's not.

Hopefully I can find some parking space at the local gym in the meantime.

Sounds good to me. And if I'm ever touring in your neck of the woods, I'll make contact beforehand.

Have you read John Wooden's books? Looked him up on youtube? I claim he's one of the wisest men this country has ever produced. Him, Ben Franklin and a few more. He's alive now and he has a bag full of great little simplistic wisdom bits to share, and then some. We're a blessed generation to get to listen to someone like him in person (tv, screens). I like to listen to him talk when I need a bad vibes scrubbing. Actually, I always like to listen to him. He's about as pure a person as there is.

The I Ching is a safe bet for sage advise. It never fails me. I always get the page I need and I always know why I got that page while I'm reading it. Even to randomly just read any page gets you closer to your higher self, if you ask me. I open it when I'm unsure about an important decision, or if I'm pondering meanings.

Maaaaaaannn!!

Didn't you know you could just download a guitar-app on the iPod and use that for smaller gigs? There are actually videos of "iBands" playing on youtube..haha

J/K

I love my touch, but a guitar amp is a good investment, didn't know you could play.

hahah I'll probably still get a touch at some point... but my company tends to give iPods to us for xmas, so I'll just wait and hope.

Yeah, I play probably 3 gigs a week and usually use my full PA or the house PA, but one venue is small and intimate and needed something more specific.

If you want you can listen here.

Danny............ Mang.............

Listen to this............ So I dated a girl a few months ago. Pretty face, beautiful eyes, very nice ta tas, but a little tick. So we kept in on the downlow. She didnt really want to go out with me she just enjoyed kicking it with me at my place and go out a couple of times here and there.

So she left for N.Y a few months ago and she called me last night telling me that she's back in town now and she's got two tickets to the Whalers concert and she was wondering if I want to go............. Are you kidding me???
She comes to my place and knocks on the door......... I open the door and bammmm :eyebrows: she has transformed like crazy.
Lost 20 pounds and went from 32c to 34 dd. She told me she had a kidney problem but shes okay now, so the pills made her gain weight.

Heres the good part, we get to House of Blues in Anaheim and we walk in, she happens to know the promoter for the House of Blues. We roll up right to the front and met up the band and then they started JAMMIN................ WOOOOOOOOOOOOW. They were tearing it up Brah, I mean I wished you were there, it was insane, when they started rockin I thought of you Mang.

Anyhow concert over walking out the door, the promoter walks up to me knowing Im a huge Rasta fan and I love the Steel Pulse, as well as Black Uhuru since my chick told him , so he hands my girl 4 tickets for the Steel Pulse concert at the same spot for the 23rd................. Brah let me know if you can make it. It will be off the hook?
Im inviting you.

That is bad ass man, I love Steel Pulse. I have to double check with work to see when I'm getting vacation. Haven't had one in 3 years, but I've been working 7 days a week, so they're making me. I should know pretty quick. I'll get at you, and thanks for thinking of me, Broseph.

Way to stay with the duckling.

So what else do you put on that list?

I think people will point to the Jay Z NAS back and forth, but I never really liked the style and production on those.

I also think if you go oldies Postively 4th street was cited as one of the pioneers of diss songs, but to me I'm sure there were old blues guys doing it first.

There is no back and forth, NaS just killed Jay Z with Ether.

and Eminem just ether'ed Mariah and Nick Cannon there.

It would be my pleasure. I'd love to show you San Antonio, although Austin might be a better bet. Although I prefer SA -- or rather, my wallet and job does -- the capital is much more hip. I actually got a chance to check out a game at Semi-Sentient's pad last spring. Very, very cool cat, and a great host. I really enjoyed that; I'm sure you would, too.

More than anything, I'd love to pick your brain a little bit about music. I picked up a few Mozart collections on your suggestion and they were fantastic, particularly Requiem. Maybe you could e-mail me a good, comprehensive list of suggestions (*removed after noting /EE) as music is something I'm trying to get back into a little bit more. My tastes seem to have stagnated a bit...

Regarding Wooden and Franklin -- both geniuses in their own rights (check out a Franklin biography if you can; an absolutely amazing man) but they're a little bit pithy for what I'm looking for right now. I say that, but then stuff like the I Ching and some of the buddhist material I've been reading lately tends to be a little too deep. I'm looking for the happy medium.

I have also started meditating lately, which has been interesting. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm definitely going to pursue it further.
