I dont agree with this. I think miller is a better handler/ facilitator than raja.

Tough to say, but I know TMac would definitely be at the bottom of this list.

mike miller is not just a spot up shooter, he's more versatile offensively than bell for sure. but defensively, bell is much better, even though miller isnt a bad defender from what i gather.

Miller is a pipe dream, he should get close to the entire MLE. Lakers don't have the money for that. Bell should be getting 1.3 to 2 million a year. Is Miller really 2 to 3 times better than Raja? Plus, will Miller clothesline LeBron in next year's final? I know Raja will.

Awesome. Is this from somewhere on RealGM?? There are enough people on this site with the free time and cleverness to really turn this into an even more entertaining off season.

The answer is whoever is cheapest (likely Bell). Miller is the better player and better fit though. We have perimeter defense on this team, but we don't have any good shooters (Kobe, Fisher are okay in spurts but either of them are consistent enough from deep to really space the floor). Plus as we've seen with guys like Allen, Fisher, Miller in Memphis etc... is that with a good enough system and core group of defenders, you don't need great 1vs1 guys at every position.

You can alway use more defense and tenacity. Plus, Raja can shoot the 3 better than Miller, spaces the floor. On the flip side, all Raja can do on offense is shoot the 3, can't do anything else.

same thought that came to my mind when i saw this thread

Miller is better on offense but not good on D, Bell is better on defense but he is aging
between these two, if i had to pick one i would have to go with Miller just because he is younger so we can use him for a couple years

Signing Tmac is risssssssssky
i dont have much to say about signing him other than that if we sign him than we better sign another player in case

Im always the person who likes going with the younger guys and MIller is that guy.Fisher was never the as great a defender as Raja but Fisher is 35 and we've seen how he's slowed down defensively so Raja's not gonna be the same guy we remember from 2005-2007. Tmac is way to risky and although the Lakers medical staff is great but its not the Suns staff so I dont expect Tmac to be the next Grant Hill for the Lakers. So I would go with Miller the only problem is money he made 8m this season if he comes to LA he would probably have to take 2.9m thats about a quarter of what he was making would he be willing to take that kind of cut. As for Roger Mason Jr he can't shoot as well he had a couple good years shooting in 08 and 09 but he was never that good before and he took a step back this season.

The 2nd year on Bell, or any '12 expirers, is pretty worthless according to what Adrian Wojnarowski is saying that owners are already primed to lockout so they won't be paying much, if any, of those dollars - much like '98 was killed and only became a 1/2 year of '99. I say do it.

I go for Raja Bell. Even tho he is 33, he is the kind of guard that can make a difference. Just not sure how much he wants or if he wants to play off the bench. He is a better option than Miller who really has not defense and is prone getting beat off the dribble.

Miller easily. guy who can spread the floor and knock down 3's consistently, plus when Artest starts over dribbling and throwing up bricks they can just bring Miller in.

it's a tough question to answer..... t-mac is obviously a player who can create his own shots and penetrate the defence.... but i dont like the health risk that come along with him... we have enough of health issues with bynum...

i would take raja but wouldn't mind going with mike miller either.... but u can't go past t-mac he might come out and be a solid bench player... either 3 players i would take as long as they understood there role within the team...

Bell's major benefit is his ability to fit the triangle jump-shooting wing role as Rick Fox did. I don't think he'll play more than 14-15 mpg but that's an improvement. As for a backup SF in a similar mold to backup Artest I suggest Bobby Simmons with perhaps Earl Watson as the PG. I think Watson can still hit 36% from 3 with the open looks the triangle gives. If not him then Chris Duhon. At least that group won't give up big leads defensively.

I would welcome anyone. If this rumours are true than I'm just happy to see what great options we have on the bench next season.

I really like Paulao Prestes who I think will end up being a great backup with the worth of a Haslem or a Varejao.

I also really like Lavar Hayward. Reminds me of a James Posey or a young Trenton Hassell.

These two guys look like they're ready to contribute right out of the draft.

I still want that trade for Patrick Mills, we desperately need his speed and instincts on our bench. We need an answer to all these quick pgs.

I like the idea of adding Raja Bell too, he's not where he was 4 years ago defensively, but he'll always have that mental toughness that we need. I could see Phil using him at the 1,2, and 3.
