I dont think having Gasol as our starting center is optimal. But I do agree with the kblo that Pelinka has done a lot for our team. Two separate arguments you are blending into one which confuses the discussion.

Pelinkas whole plan for the 5 this year revolves around 1 thing. Signing Drummond. If we don't get that done, Marc Gasol is our go to.

Well sure. Then let's sign Drummond. If we dont, well let's run w Gasol at our center position, it will be up to Vogel and staff to rack their brains on that one then.
The thing is, you dont know behind closed doors what Pelinka has done. For all we know , he may have had sleepless nights the last 3 weeks working 90 hour weeks constantly on the phone and drawing up different types of plans.
Just because no result has been shown on our end , doesnt mean that we know simply his whole plan for center is just Gasol .

So Drummond is a lock right? I hope Rob knows what he's doing with the Schroder and Trez contracts. As of right now, THT, Caruso, and Schroder are out the door because we didn't created any cap space for them.

If everyone's healthy, THT won't be in the rotation in the playoffs. KCP has looked dead for the last month and a half. Schroder, as good as he is, is not a great offensive fit next to LeBron especially down the stretch of playoff games. We needed more shooting on this roster and we got none of it.

Hell, even a deal like McKinnie + cash + 2nd round pick for a player like Wayne Ellington to give us KCP insurance would've been awesome.

I really think we're going to regret this day. I hope I'm wrong.
