Santa Claus is banned. The Pledge of Allegiance is no longer recited. “Harvest festival” has replaced Thanksgiving, and “winter celebrations” substitute for Christmas parties.

New principal Eujin Jaela Kim has given PS 169 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, a politically correct scrub-down, to the dismay of teachers and parents.“We definitely can’t say Christmas, nothing with Christmas on it, nothing with Santa,” PTA president Mimi Ferrer said administrators told her. “No angels. We can’t even have a star because it can represent a religious system, like the Star of David.”

"In a recent directive to all schools, the city Department of Education said it permits holiday symbols including Christmas trees, kinaras (candleholders for Kwanzaa), dreidels, Hanukkah menorahs and the Islamic star-and-crescent. Displays that “depict images of deities, religious figures or religious texts” are prohibited. In a memo to staff this month, PS 169 business manager Johanna Bjorken added: “In case you are wondering about grey areas: Santa Claus is considered an ‘other religious figure.’ ”

There, just copied and pasted an article. I really don't want to sit here and debate the madness...like it doesn't exist. We all know exactly the junk I'm talking about.

Here's whats going on at Princeton right now:
""The relatively new policy in effect at the Ivy League institution spells out the directive in a four-page memo that aims to make the department more gender inclusive. Instead of using “man,” employees are told to use words such as human beings, individuals or people.""

That crap just makes me laugh....if it wasn't poured over us with that condescending, authoritative, parental tone.

Both sides.....you just take the sh** too far. Over and over..you push and push. You don't care whether people want what your selling or not. You just want what you want. And then sit there mouth agape, STUNNED when it turns out other people don't think exactly like you!

And then point the finger at the other side. Your both the same irritating rash on this country.

And so here we are......we got f**king Trump. You can BOTH take credit for that one.

Like that crooked, old witch was honestly gonna be any better. Opposite sides of the same coin. And then go out, and talk about how discussion is dead in this country. No it's not.....it's just dead between you two lunatic fringes.

Weird. Being a non-christian I still used to get a Christmas gift from my parents and its still one of my favourite times of the year but my parents also took me to synagogues and mosques to teach me about other religions. It feels more like the definition of secularism has changed.

Apparently he's what's wrong with the world. He, or Harry Potter. Depends on which bowl of Kool-Aid you happen to float in. We need less floaters, I can tell you that.

The definition of "inclusive" has changed.

http://www.snopes.com/ps-169-pledge-allegiance-holiday-ban-controversy/

In short, the Pledge of Allegiance is not now and never was banned by Principal Kim at PS 169, and the DoE confirmed the Pledge will be recited over the loudspeaker going forward. Guidelines issued by the DoE clarified that Santa Claus was permissible as a "symbol with secular dimensions," and at no point was Thanksgiving (or discussion of it) banned in PS 169 or any school. Moreover, holiday-related directives encompassed all schools within the DoE's bailiwick, and were based on the widely observed policy of schools not endorsing or promoting any particular religion.

People freak out over no big deal sometime. The district is trying to not support one religion by removing religion from the schools (which isn't a terrible idea for a state funded entity).

danfantastk32, I can tell this topic gets you fired up and I'm not entirely disagreeing with you, but emotional arguments are often not level headed. by sharing the information in such decisive ways you're contributing to the fuzz around topics that give both sides something to grasp on to, twist and run with. nothing is usually black or white so why try to make it that way?

Yeah....If you think I care to argue this, your wrong. I won't even bother with you. Only to say keep "correcting" people, and don't for one second let it sink through that maybe people don't care what you think. I know you don't care what I think.

Both sides...just keep it up. You both propped equally atrocious candidates for all the world to marvel at. And clearly you've both learned absolutely nothing. All you wanna do is find nuances, and holes to banter back and forth, so that nothing penetrates that wonderful world you envision.

*pats on head* ....it was their fault for Trump...I know. Your right.

While I did not support Trump, I also certainly did not support Hillary. The candidate I "propped up" lost in a primary. I'm sorry for sharing a fact that counteracted your opinion. you can go back to whatever alternate reality you're living in.

So we have radiators in Denmark instead of central heating and I've been drying my clothes on them instead of using the drier. Best washing hack ever. I don't even have to press my shirts anymore.

it's like hanging your clothes while you shower (and keep the fan off) to get rid of light wrinkles.

Have a job interview for a corporate accounting position this Tuesday. Really want this gig, only problem is I only remember 10% about t accounts/general ledger that I learned as an undergrad about four years ago. Any recommendations on how not to bomb this interview lol?

Run through questions and answers before hand. look up behavioral interviewing questions on google. if you can answer those you should be fine for whatever softballs they throw at you.
