It's preseason, so I really really don't want to get too excited. But you look at this team (without AD and Lebron!) and it's hard not to be impressed.

You know the Clippers cared about this game more. Everyone is trying out rotations, and plays....I get it. But we were missing 3 or 4 starters (not to mention AD and Lebron!) and we wiped the floor tonight. Marc looks great. THT appears to be a legit baller. Things looked great. I'm gonna pretend I didn't see this tonight. Store it in the 'outlier' file. I hate getting excited for preseason. But damn...

He's really making it look easy. Good for him. And how awesome would it be if we found a chunk of gold out of the draft? Feels like it's been a while. I'm gonna wait a little. Let's see him do it in the regular season....and let's see him once coaches actually account for him. But the guy looks legit. No doubt.

I could see gasol starting. Like javale. He would Not get the large minutes, but would touch base in the beginning. However, his court vision and passing are like Light Years ahead and apart from Javale and dwight. Dwight for all them years, never perfected the craft like a Kobe, who slept in the gym and practiced all day. Gasols game and vision could set up our Top 2

Marc is definitely one of the top 3 bigs in terms of passing ability in the NBA along with Jokic.

I like Harry Giles so much cause he do the same (may be not as good)with the athleticism and scoring ability to pair with AD. Yet he is a blazer now.

Some takes from this game:
1. THT is surprisingly good!! Can shoot, can drive, can defend and pass a little bit. Still needs time to mature and learn to see the game better. Marc and James may do wonder on him in this aspect.
2. Kuz played well, unselfish with a few good passes and maintained some of his defensive intensity in the playoffs. He just shouldn't put the ball on the floor :lol:

3.Harrell's energy make up for his lack of size. He makes us extremely versatile with the ability to play 3-5 (sometimes guarding Zubac and sometimes Kawhi)
4. The extraordinarily good shooting night may get us very excited. But I doubt how often we will see it in the regular season or in the playoffs
5. Quinn Cook's head is still very big to me. :lol:

Still concerned about our front court size which was our main strength to protect the rim and the paint area last season.

Anyone tell me why McKinnie didn't see the floor for both of the games?

100%... I'll drive that **** if necessary... There's something about him that's just different than a lot of the young guys we've watched for the last decade or so... He's more complete.
I know every year there's a young guy that Lakers fans get excited about, but none of them have as complete a package as THT... He's not just a bouncy guy like Shannon Brown or finisher like Clarkson, he's not just a defensive monster like Caruso, he's not just a lights out shooter like Rookie Kuz... He's a little bit of all that, but he's just fundamentally sound and solid, and smart...
And he has his physical gifts on top of all that...

I love when there's a subplot to a lakers season that keeps you hyped through the grind and THT is already that for me...

THT's playmaking with the second unit will make Schröder's insistence on starting very manageable. That's three competent ball handlers to spread around on offense. I think the THT + Caruso line ups will do really well considering the basketball IQ both guys share.

If Caruso comes in with a 3pt shot, I think it works... I'm a Schoder fan... He's tough as nails, fearless, a great shooter and a tenacious defender... I'm just not sure I see him as a starting 1 for us... I know I'll sound like a clown for this right now, but I think our best pg other than Lebron, might end up being THT... His passing was a little weak at times, but his vision and instincts are better than anything I've seen since PO Rondo... He also keeps the ball moving and the pace up better than the other guys so far... Love his little no look shovel passes in the paint... He uses his body and hesitation-dribbles to get in the attacking zone and doesn't force it, but finds open cutters, or hits the corner shooters... We just haven't seen that in a long time.
I'd love to see THT/Schroder/LeBron/AD/Marc to start games, with Schoder being used as a scorer, rather than a distributor...

But I'm sure teams are going to figure THT out soon and he may disappear a bit as he struggles to find counters... So who knows... This might all be meme material by mid season... But I really don't think so.

Well all know that we have a beast in THT even in the G-League looking how he was with that age the composure the physical tools the complete package he has playing. This kid with minutes we all know that he could be amazing

Lakers ranked pretty high (I think 3rd or 4th among all teams ) in the last 10 years in terms of drafting. No. 1 was Toronto. I think Denver is no. 2

Surprisingly, Boston , GSW and Spurs haven’t done so well.

I’ve been on the THT train since he was drafted but thanks for the welcome aboard. :wave:

He was drafted when injured and while still super young. Steal of the draft last year might not have been an exaggeration.
