If there was a play drawn up, I never saw it.

Yeah any coach that drew up that play should be fired. You just can’t justify an ISO contested 3pt attempt from a big that’s a career 30% shooter from 3 and is shooting 12% on the season.

I honestly had no idea Russ was such a poor shooter. He’s easily the worse shooting wing on the team by far. He’s like prime Rondo with his shooting deficiencies.

Reeves is already a decent defender… this is quite impressive. I can’t wait for his shots to begin to fall.

Can’t believe Fisher was better at finishing at the rim than Bazemore.

You know your team is a poor free throw shooting team when you have AD who’s shooting 74% taking technical free throws. I’d guess he’s probably shooting 50% on technical free throws on the season.

Melo's shot is wet right now... But he did everything possible, and invented a couple things that weren't, to give this game away... Up by 11 late in the 4th and he decides to throw an absolute hissy fit with the refs and pick up a tech along with a foul... Ended up being a 4 point reversal, and then he started bricking and vanishing on Defense...
I'll give him credit for the shot, but that only covers so much stupid...

Melo started bricking? What narrative or lie are you trying to spin? Melo was a total of 3/4 from the field in overtime and the fourth, to be exact 2/2 in the fourth and 1/2 in overtime .. He literally did not touch the ball and got froze out by his (Please Use More Appropriate Word) point guard who did not want him to be the hero of the game and had 5 turnovers to end the game.

Yes he should not have argued with the ref even if they called a terrible game, which they did at that point, see Rondo being tossed but Melo gave the Lakers that lead. Melo was easily the best offensive player on the team and second best guy on the court for LA that game. His coach made a terrible call taking him out when he was s scorching hot in the fourth over riding the hot hand, cooling him before the Hornets actually did. And Russ did everything in his power to throw the game off, get his triple double, and make sure Melo did not out play him. The fact he grabbed 7 boards in the fourth is inconsequential when it comes because he allows every guard to drive or shoot no matter who you put him on so he can play his vaunted defense of I'm go steal this board from my guy. And then the guys have to wait and hope he doesn't screw it up on offense, Vogel in fact wasted 1 timeout solely to make sure Russ didn't drive and turn it over being stupid. And frank was honestly stupid for calling game winner for AD oiver a hot Melo too.

It is an insult to Rondo or Kidd .. I haven't seen such an awful shooter as a Laker since Van Exel ... It is like Nick is playing Stockton every single game watching Russ shoot

If Westbrook got lost at sea, no trade, just gone, the Lakers would be better as a team:

PG - Rondo - Reaves
SG - Bradley - Monk
C - Davis - Howard
PF - Anthony - Doumbouya
SF - Bazemore - Ellington

When they're at full strength they'd need hin even less:

PG - Rondo - Reaves - Monk
SG - Nunn - Bradley - Ellington
C - Davis - Howard - Jordan - Huff
PF - Ariza - Anthony - Doumbouya
SF - James - Tucker - Bazemore - Brown

When LeBron, THT and Nunn get back - he should just be sat down anytime he starts doing dumb **** in the fourth quarter. I knew as soon as Rondo was ejected last night that Westbrook was going to start vomiting all over himself. And that's exactly what happened.

I really thought by now I'd be over the Westbrook deal and not thinking about Buddy Hield as much. Seriously.

I’ve been suggesting that they should pull Russ out every last 2 minutes of each game but I don’t think he committed any turnovers in OT with 2 assists, set up AD which lead to 2 FTS, and a couple of rebs.

Melo nuthuggers are the worst... We have a bunch of advanced box score watchers here... Watch the game or stay out of the game threads.
Westbrook and Melo got us the lead... Westbrook, Melo, and AD gave it away with minutes left... AD, and Reaves got us the win in OT, with their play on both ends of the court.
Net/Net? We still suck balls. So who gives a **** about Melo's hot shooting?

You literally lied and got caught in a lie when you said he started bricking. He went 3/4 for 75%. He literally did not brick like you lied and said. Don't spin a narrative because you were dead wrong and lying  own that turnover flat on your face like Russ does

Except from in a win against Houston 95-85, we score over 105 points on average in every game. That’s enough points to win every game.

Defense!

Who cares about Melo’s hot shooting when he matadors opponents to the free dunk?

It’s time to hold people accountable, Frank! That includes Westbrook.

Miami will torment Westbrook and Melo tonight. I predict we’ll lose by 25 and tomorrow there will be posts here asking for a new coach.

Not looking forward to going up against them without Ariza, LBJ, THT, Ellington … It’ll get ugly.
Rings since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

I guess I am trying to appoint myself as the Westbrook Apologist so le me mention some names here.

2004. Vujacic shot 28%, , Tierre Brown shot 35.6%
2014- Ronnie Price shot 34%FG and 28% from 3. I've excluded VanBlue, Henry and Kelly who barely played that season. :-?
2015, Anthony Brown shot 31% . Metta shot 31 % FG
2016, Peace again shot 28% and 24% from 3.
So far this season 11 games, Westbrook is shooting 41% and 25.6% from 3.
Not a lot of names and yes, Westbrook is laying so many bricks out there. But TS% wise if you account for also 3pt shots AND FTs, Rondo is actually the worst bec of no FTs at 34%
