I think we'll see a lineup of Ronny-Pau-Lamar-Kobe-Sasha.

Ronny is strong enough to take on Perkins.

Pau has played KG well in the past.

Lamar's length and strength will bother Paul greatly.

Kobe can roam on defense against Rondo.

Sasha would greatly bother Ray Allen with his pesky defense.

I think Radman will be okay on PP. He needs to keep his hot shoting as he has done during the playoffs. And great thread kno.

Trixx/Kno, do you know it took 26 minutes to open on dial up internet? Thanks, man. I really APPRECIATE that. It's a good thing it was worth it! Great thread.

I was going to do a Game 2 thread, but my friend moved and took his high speed internet computer with him, so now I'm unable to do it. Sorry, guys. I was really looking forward to doing it and making my "Game Thread" return.

Onto the series..

I say what I've said for every series so far.. Lakers in 6.

Game 1- Boston wins
Game 2- Lakers win
Game 3- Lakers win
Game 4- Boston wins
Game 5- Lakers win
Game 6- Lakers win

Should be a good series. Odom making outside shots is going to be key. I assume they'll try to lock up Pau with Garnett, so if Odom has Perkins on him, he has to make some jump shots to get Perkins to come out and guard him. From there, Odom can kill him slashing to the basket.

Defense, and limiting Allen is key. I have faith in Kobe/Sasha.

Also, Radmanovic has usually come up big in these opportunities. He'll have to pull another rabbit out of the hat and come up with a big defensive series. I don't care if he hits a single shot throughout the series. Defend Pierce, and you'll be praised, Radman.

Let's go guys! This is what it's all about, The NBA Finals.

Sasha could seriously get hurt if he doesn't watch his antics! He better not be throwing any garbage shots up when we are up 20. KG or Posey and co. might not like it.

lol i hope pp does not flash any gang signs on our players with his tugish lifestyle.

but i do agree, i think if there is any hard fouls in the game the first person that will be knocked down will be Sasha.

yeah true and I half expected Bowen or Horry to do come up with some shady play in game 4 when they were looking down and out. (To be fair, Bowen did elbow Sasha away from the cameras) and Horry might have been too nostalgic over the entire Lakers thing and playing against Kobe to try anything.

Posey OTOH has done some shady stuff in the past, the one involving Hinrich IIRC comes to mind. I know Sasha doesn't care and would be his normal stuff, if they knock him down, he'll just flop and fiegn more pain and then just get up and look for more trouble than he can handle.

Thats why the fans love him!

Sick thread.

I'm hoping the Lakers close out in Boston and Phil lights up a victory cigar!

FYI- as heads up and you guys know who you are. Some of you that are posting on the Celtics board are close to a suspension.

So, my suggestion is to back off..no matter what they say and or do.
Cheers. — Mags

I think we're going to see a lot of Sasha in this series at the SG. Moving Kobe to the 3 to guard PP. Paul Pierce has been the one who has really been leading Boston offensively and has been really jump starting their offense. I don't think Vlad can do to PP what he did to Melo. I'm even predicting that by game 3 Sasha might even be starting at 2 to chase Ray allen around all game and give Kobe the duties of shutting down pierce.

I think that is a very big possibility, since Sasha has proven to guard the 2 spot and Doc in Boston usually goes with an 8 man rotation, I think it's possible for match-up purposes that Phil changes the gameplan, not sure if he'd do it as the bench would feel much different!

True it might ruin the whole "bench mob" feel by switching sasha and Vlad. Sasha is a HUGE role on the bench because he comes out with the green light mentality and really gives us that boost off the bench. But if Paul Pierce does to Vlad what he's been doing all season, we'll have no other choice but to move Kobe over to the three to shut him down.

OR
Another possibility, as I'm thinking out loud here. We could start Turiaf at Center. Throw Pau at 4 and have Lamar move to 3 to guard PP. This would be interesting, but we'd lose a lot of court spacing as Fisher would be our only legitimate outside threat besides Kobe. hmmmm.. interesting...
