Cost cutting move by BOS since his contract was to become guaranteed in a few days.
Also opens a roster spot for them.

Howdi P&G crowd, Bulls fan in peace. Not here to propose any trades but I wanted to ask in general:

1. How has Schröder been in running your offense? Has he worked out the wrinkles with AD from 2 years ago?
2. How has his on/off ball D been, especially at the POA (Point of Attack)? Is he still a pesky defender?

1. He’s not a great facilitator. Like at all. If you’re looking for someone to run the offense then he ain’t really it. Westbrook, for as much as rock head as he can be at times, has better chemistry with AD and is better as a facilitator (when he wants to be).

2. His D has fallen off a cliff. He’s not awful, but he’s also clearly not as good as he used to be.

Crazy question, but do you guys think they have a deal in place come january 15th?

Beal, LaVine, Ayton, Dort, MitchROb, Cody Martin and others are available by then.

I hope what LBJ said means he agrees with you:

In the wire tap:
“ Amick reported that James paused as he walked away and then shouted.

"Y’all know what the f— should be happening. I don’t need to talk." “

How I translate that is:
1) Westbrook’s expiring should be traded for an impact defender, now. You all know that.
2) Rob should be replaced by Rich Paul. You all know that.
3) When I don’t know wtf should be happening, I act resolute by yelling cryptic stuff. You all know that.
4) They should sell the team to me. You all know that.

Unfortunately I don’t think he means number one.

Any more possible translations?

Pistons, Hornets, Magic, Raptors, Wizards. Those are the five worst teams in the east.

Pelinka, time to get some real return for the biggest expiring asset in the entire NBA, or expect to soon lose your job. Losing is not part of that ‘Lakers excellence’. Not accepted.

Beas was just voted the 9th worst contract in the league on this forum so if they're trading for him, which they might be, then they better have a plan in place in terms of rounding out the roster.

I would prefer they did this trade instead: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2mskk5pu

Lakers get: Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and Myles Turner
Lakers give Westbrook and 2 FRPs

Detroit get: Westbrook and 1 FRP
Detroit give: Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and Nerlens Noel

Indiana get: Nerlens Noel and 1 FRP
Indiana give: Myles Turner

Sign me up. I just don’t want to see his contract expire in June for no return. I fear that Jeannie is putting her ego in this Westbrook business.

That trade would make us a ton better.

Beasley wants out, it seems. I’d expect a sudden improvement for him back into prime form once traded.

My ideal trades are Russ/Nunn/Jones/FRP for Rozier/Hayward/Plumlee and Bev/FRP for Kuzma

Rozier / Schroeder
Reaves / Walker IV / Christie
LeBron / Brown Jr. / JTA
Kuzma / Hayward
AD / Bryant / Plumlee

I honestly think that team could take anyone in the West in a series. If we're trading Russ, we do need a creator back. Schroeder has been playing great lately but you can't bank on him keeping that up the rest of the season. Rozier fits that bill. Kuzma provides good size and defensive versatility on the wing. If Hayward is healthy I really like wing rotation.

this deal seems likely so they won't lose kyrie for nothing in off season. they will need another superstar to keep Kevin Durant happy

I wouldn't trade AD under any circumstances. Would prefer: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2mskk5pu

Lakers get: Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and Myles Turner
Detroit get: Westbrook and 1 FRP
Indiana get: Nerlens Noel and 1 FRP

Reaves / Schroeder / Bev
Burks / Lonnie / Christie
Lebron / Bogs / (Burks) / Brown Jr.
AD / (Bogs) / (Bron) / Gabriel
Turner / (AD) / Bryant

Im thinking Rob targeting FVV or Trent Jr, Masai wants both picks and Reaves.
Lakers might just settle with Terrence Ross.
My pie in the sky wish is SGA, Russ goes home in OKC where he first thrived.

we should definitely target Draymond... everyone knows he is out... I wonder if we can trade all of our smaller expiring for dray and donte without adding a pick. since Lonnie and Beverly still hold some value

Random idea. What about something with the Suns.
Lakers trade
Russell Westbrook

Suns Trade
Chris Paul
Jae Crowder

Feel like Westbrook helps the suns struggling offense by pushing the pace. Plus they get off CP3 contract.

CP3 will be able to play less with lakers and be more productive. We’d only need like 26 min a game from him. Crowder gives lakers some desperate wing size.

Russ isn't a good fit for Phoenix because it takes the ball away from Book but of course I'd love for CP3 to be here.
