I can see something like that. I would say try to deal Duhon for Raja Bell and acquire someone like Amundson until Dwight gets back.

PG - S. Nash/S. Blake
SG - K. Bryant/J. Meeks
SF - R. Artest/R. Bell
PF - E. Clark/A. Jamison
C - D. Howard/L. Amundson

It's a small upgrade for the bench until they can get Pau back (who I think will get the surgery once the second opinion confirms it's the best choice). The Lakers need to think small and I would still consider a Dwight Howard for Brook Lopez and Future Picks deal if Dwight won't get his act together.

who would willingly take Duhon? I'm pretty sure Mitch fought hard not to take him but what you gona do it was Howard after all

As a Bucks fan, I'd be interested in Pau, but we'd probably need some long term salary going out. Hammond would have a hard time justifying giving a bunch of neutral contracts (at worst) for one big slightly negative contractive (at best). We're not taking Blake too.

And why do some of you guys want Bargs? Sure he's a stretch 4, decent one on one scorer but that's it. He's not making you pay any way else. Is it because you have Howard and MWP to "mask" his deficiencies? That's not a winning culture. If I were a player, I'd hate to play my ass off on defense, boxing out strong, sweaty huge mother **** only to have to give the ball to a player with so many weaknesses on the other end who simply won't do the same hard work I just did. And that's me. Imagine Kobe, Nash and what the fans would do. Ideally, he'd be the 4th big who can get you a big shot here and there. But at 11mil/yr? Quite possibly the worst contract in the league.

Ask people on the Raptors board and you will get an honest answer

Living in Canada, NBATV carries all the Raps games so I've been watching him, what, seven years? TO fans hate him because he wasn't their jesus and they spent a #1 pick on him.
Agree he isn't pau but he's not terribly overpaid and could help us - if BC really wants to unload him and willing to throw someone good in, not a terrible idea.

^^^but who's is this "someone good" portion though? BC isn't gona want to give any of the starters and we certainly dont need anyone of their bench players. The only enticing part was Calderon, since he would've helped @ PG and was expiring.

if he's desperate enough to give up Derozan, pull the trigger. Looks like Bargs may be going to CHI anyway, for Boozer.

Does Brooklyn want to get out of that Wallace contract? I'd offer MWP+Ebanks+Duhon. Obviously Gerald isn't what he used to be and his contract is long but at least he'd know his damn role and not be such a black hole chucker like Metta is.

Amare Stoudemire

Post#827 » by Roll Tide 09 » Fri Feb 8, 2013 7:47 am

Would you guys trade Howard for Stoudemire and Copeland? Stoudemire may have a horrendous contract but Howard is not gonna give you guys the best chance at a ring, reunite Stoudemire, Nash, and D'Antoni and if Stoudemire can stay healthy, and "clicks" well with the system again, you WILL make the playoff's.

Lakers don't need more offense, they need a defensive presence.

Any guy dumb enough to punch a fire extinguisher essentially during a playoff series essentially killing any chance his team had of winning the series is just the kind of guy I'd rather have playing for the other team.

The same guy that called Lamar Odom "lucky" during a playoff series. Donotwant!!

Wallace was so bad in our last game I'm not sure he's even an upgrade over Metta. Taking in his 4/40 contract would be a massive blunder!

If we ever are trading for Amare, the guy being traded would never be Dwight. It would be Pau
