I still haven't figured out what I want to do my research on this summer... reading papers is not helpful because everything is so damn interesting.

Yeah I know what you mean. That guy is delusional, me and him have traded blows for quite a while now, and he always resorts to calling me a "fake" fan because I don't post on Lakersground and refuse to let him speak for all of us with his crappy trades in the GB.

I didn't have time to find a better vid, so ignore the hippie dippie bullcrap, but heres the principle:

Made of 3ft thick walls of hard packed earth jammed into old tires, then covered in adobe.
Uses a roof water capture that feeds a 4 part filter to provide all drinking/bathing water that then goes through an indoor garden to be filtered into water for toilets then toilets go to a septic tank.
All power met through solar and wind power generated from south facing (in northern hemisphere) window walls.

So completely off the grid for water and power and 73 degrees year round even in 100 degree heat or 20 degree cold due to thermal mass. plus you get an indoor climate you can grow bananas... or any plant you might want year round indoor.

Permitting is tough in my area, but I'm contemplating trying to get it all permitted.

Oh and I did my first day of a full time job ever today at the lab. I had previously done worked 37-40 hours a week for multiple summers, but they were still technically "part time" where I picked up an extra shift or two every week to work 6 or 7 days a week.

How was it?

And breaking news, I got an interview this Friday for working the Kobe Academy. That's what happens when you take initiative. I hope I don't have work at that time

I decided that I'm going to use the electrospun scaffolds I learned how to make over the past semester, but I will use them to release different antibiotics over time and see how effective they are at killing bacteria. If time permits, I also plan on seeing how they work in conjunction with the innate immunological abilities of mesenchymal stem cells to kill bacteria over time. The ultimate goal would be to use them to heal infections in areas like joints while simultaneously regenerating tissue. Hopefully there is enough time this summer for me to get most of that accomplished.
