There's a lot that's specifically bad... 98% of the sitcoms and series are just mindless and unwatchable... Then you have the clearly scripted "Reality TV"... The increasingly mindless commercials... "Sports" like poker and WWE... Nascar, MMA, and even golf, trying to work in the WWE personas, heels, etc... The constant product placement and marketting... Illiterate news anchors who just get louder to prove their point... Humor that's based solely on affirming that we're ok by making fun of those less fortunate than us...

I mean, if you sit on one channel, it's a little more bearable, because you can tune it out, but flipping through them, you get more of a big picture of how insipid it all is...

The main thing though is that they aren't even trying to hide the fact that we've seen all this a million times...

It's not hard to see how people can look at our culture and view it as a modern Gomorrah, teetering on the brink of a 'cleansing'...

you have to let these things happen organically, forcing it doesn't work

Only reason cable tv is relevant is live sports. Amazon prime student at 39$ per year with same line up as netflix and free 2 day shipping on all orders is just too damn awesome!

I'm such a **** high roller, I forgot I had an Amazon Prime account...
