Exactly. That's why if your draft position is high enough where other teams thinks there's real talent to be had and you don't feel the same way you trade down to accumulate more assets.

I think that if the lakers are impressed with someone enough that they prefer then over Simmons/Ingram, you just pick them at 2. I think that high in the draft you can't be self centered enough to think that you're seeing something special in someone that other teams can't see for themselves.

I dont think its about being self centered. I just think teams grade players differently and every team has different needs. There's been rumors of the Celtics desperately trying to shop their pick. I think they're buying into the whole 2 player draft thing and they are on the outside looking in. My guess is they wouldn't be shopping that pick if they had number 2 and was guaranteed either Ben or Ingram. So In theory the lakers could trade down to the 3rd spot and also make the Celtics give them their 16, and 23 depending on how much they value Ingram. Then if Buddy was their pick all along they get their guy and assets.

Kevin Durant was given the nickname "Slim Reaper", but he has said he doesn't want to be called that.

Since it is not in use, we shall anoint Brandon Ingram as the "Slim Reaper" lol

We need a pic like this but with Ingram lol

If the Lakers don't draft Ingram and or trade it for a superstar, then it's clear we have no business keeping Mitch and Buss. Ingram is the best choice for our young core. We need a SF and or Center. Buddy is too small and slow to play the three, Jamal can't score over anyone taller than him, we already have our future PG in Dloading so no need for Dunn. The clear choice is Ingram. If it's not Ingram, we might as well delete this message board lol

Ben Simmons has been called a total stud, the hands down best talent of this draft by top NBA brass. I'm not sure the sixers won't draft Ingram. We can't go wrong with either one of those two.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4

PG: Luka / Vincent / Bronny
SG: Smart / Reaves / Knecht / Mañon
SF: LaRavia / Rui / Thiero

I don't see Philly passing on Simmons and all rumors have them really high on his potential. Ingram is the better fit anyway and he seems to be a hard worker with great mentality, add to that he's the youngest player in the draft with the type of length that is extremely rare with a 2 way game and great shooting I am on that INGRAM HYPE!!!

I'm just ready for the draft to get here so we can start hyping up whoever we happen to pick.

Buddy Hield just got done with his 2nd Lakers workout, which was his only individual workout AND his last.

He expressed confidence in the Lakers selecting him at 2.

Per Mark Medina

Despite this, I really don't see us taking anyone but Simmons or Ingram and if a chance to trade down for who we want comes up, we have one of the top 2 talents in this draft.

It'd be insane to wind up with 2 top prospects without giving up the kids.

Also on Buddy Hield's workout...

He went 1v1 though it's not known if that was against an asst coach or against another prospect like Okafor's 2nd workout last year.

He wasn't happy with the shooting in his workout so he did it again after it was over.

His workout with Kobe he said was about a 2 hour workout mostly working on footwork.

So far only ones with a 2nd workout have been Jaylen Brown and Buddy Hield iirc

I think they'd explore trading the #2 to trade down for him and collect more assets.

The #2 pick could definitely start a bidding war

Mitch, Jim, Jesse, West, Rudy T, Carraro, Wilkes and plenty more per Pincus

Also Pincus makes it seem as if Lakers are quite intrigued with Hield. Reminds me a lot of the Okafor workout except we don't know yet what the LAL thought of Hield's workout but I'm sure in a few days pre-draft we'll know.

I've had Hield #3 on my big board for a while now, but I said that there was a gap between 1-2 and 3-5. I still think Ingram is the pick, but if Mitch and co. feel like that gap is closer than the consensus and they can trade down and pick up another asset, then I'll trust their judgement.

It'll be interesting to see what happens on Draft Day. I definitely feel there's genuine deep interest in both Buddy Hield and Jaylen Brown since each had 2 workouts. Maybe they're seeing which of the 2 will be the choice at the spot they'd be trading down to.

I too trust the scouting team of Jimitch & Co

I think this guy is hands down the best player in the draft, he is really NBA ready, but his current age is a concern.
