Get him on a food plan with NBA money and a strength coach and you'll see his weaknesses dissipate.
Found it ironic they talk about his lack of his post moves and post defense and talks about he handles the perimeter well. Hmm, maybe he's isn't a PF? Also a little silly to highlight his 'shot inconsistency' when he had a facial fracture and was playing with a mask on.

No it hasn't....where are you getting your information from ? Since 1990 when they tweaked the lottery ( only slots 10-14 only ) the 4th worst record team has NEVER WON the lottery. The only time the team with the 4th worse record won the lottery was 1987 with the Spurs.NBA Moses wrote:DEEP3CL wrote:Our April schedule is brutal, I only see one maybe two wins if that. Orlando closes April with Spurs,@T-Wolves, @Bucks,Bulls, Raptors, Knicks,@ Heat ,@ Nets. They should beat the Knicks and T-Wolves.
the current lottery system started back in 1990.(25 years)
Since then the #4 slot as finished post lottery 6th or 7th 4 times(16.667%)
The #4 slot has finished #1 overall 2 times
The #5 slot has finished 6 or 7 11 times(44%)
Surprisingly the #5 slot has actually finished #1 5 times(20.8%) well above statistical avg. (8.8 %)
Here's proof.....

If we stay in 4th or 5th how about trading the Houston pick plus our lottery pick for a top 3. Russell, Towns and Okafor are all potential franchise players. I don't see any other game changers. With the emergence of Clarkson I don't see the urgent need for a point guard in free agency. I'd love to pair Russell and Clarkson together. Give us our back court of the future, then go after Monroe in free agency.

I s like Stanley at 4/5 over Mudiay or WCS... The NBA is a perimeter game... GS starts two SF's & two SG's... Spurs run their offense through Parker & Lenard... Stanley will be a top 5 defender, rebounder & playmaker for SF's... He is a grown man and plays good team basketball... He will make the SF position a strength for the next 10 years... Clarkson, Kobe & Stanley will be a top perimeter defensive team with length... We could then grab Asik (preference) or Monroe to anchor the middle... Let Randle play PF... That team will play hard & win some games...

Unless we draw top 3, I can see Mitch surprising us this season by trading down and accumulating some talent to beef up the roster.

kinda hoping for this and with a side of fantasy land scenario where he finds ways to get WCS out of the trade and someo how combine the hou pick with whatever pick you get extra from trading down and try to move up to get a Winslow or a Johnson. WCS and either of those 2 wings might not have high chance of being "stars" but they could fit overall team core very well.

Actually this I can't see at all. I really doubt Mitch and Jim will be able to avoid the temptation of the PR boost of "the Lakers highest draft pick in 33 years."

RGM's saying he's about to declare. I want this draft as stacked as possible.

I can see them trading the pick. Especially with Jim's 3 year or bust window. If they don't like their chances at 4 or 5 with Hezonja, Mudiay, Russell, etc it only makes sense to either trade back (I wouldn't) or trade the pick altogether for a disgruntled young player with more upside/more baggage possibly. This team is desperate for an immediate infusion of NBA-ready talent.

You want EVERYONE to declare because that pushes talent back to our later picks

True if we keep our first pick. If not I wouldn't mind a few declaring for next draft when we will own our pick without protections.

Turner looks like someone will pick him high, then he would become someone like J.Hill or T.Robinson. Hope we don't waste a pick on him but get him in 2-3 years.

Agree, due to the depth of this draft and the potential of "grow your own" franchise type players trading down to me is a bit of a foolish gamble. The reality of it is ,there is really no one that's a FA to trade for that will instantly make your team potent. Like the equivalent of what Shaq did for us in the summer of 96, yeah it didn't make us instant championship winners...but we were in the conversation.crazyeights wrote:Slava wrote:Unless we draw top 3, I can see Mitch surprising us this season by trading down and accumulating some talent to beef up the roster.

In the scenario that we keep our pick and it fell to #5, would you be willing to trade the #5 pick and Houston's pick (projected at 27) to Philly for the picks they are getting from Miami and OKC (projected at 16 & 19) and the rights back to our pick next year?
Not sure if they would do it, but they like to deal and two picks in the top 5 with another first and a bunch of 2nds is solid building material.

That'd suck for us. #5 is worth a lot more than #16 & #19. I'd drop may be two spots but no more than that.

I don't disagree that #5 is worth a lot more than #16 & #19, but getting our pick back for next year is the key.

We'll likely spend a bit and treadmill next season. Lakers cannot afford another tank with TV ratings in the balance.
