I guess I can warm up to Jackson though Ball excites me. But doesn't Jackson pretty much replicate Ingram's skill set? Throw in PG13 and one of them needs to go

Yes, one of his best attributes. Next they will have an article about his horrible passing ability and terrible shot selection. His 2nd and 3rd best attributes.

I can't...

I don't know, it's one thing thing to leak that you're still unsure of who the pick is and that you're still looking at other instead. It's another to leak fabricated assertions openly questioning a player's work ethic/preparation that could a very real negative impact them. I have my doubts they'd go that far.

So assuming they are purposefully leaking things, what purpose does questioning this player's work ethic do? You want to lower the value of a widely considered-to-be top 3 pick for what reason? To me these articles seem like click bait more than some posturing leaks by the Lakers.

And if they aren't intentional leaks, the Lakers are that incompetent to let private workout details leak that would harm top prospects value and thereby the possible trade value of their position?

Well Jackson is a great finisher at the rim. I just really worry about his shooting. Did seem comfortable in the catch and shoot from 3 but 56% from the FT line is ewww. Lol. Then again Fultz and Ball weren't much better there. The former two draw fouls though.

Well considering everyone and their grandmother had Ball in a Laker uniform before any sort of work out or visit was made it would make sense for the Lakers to temper expectations when they are seriously thinking of drafting someone else.

That's the other thing is with Jackson we don't have above average 3pt shooters at 4 of our 5 positions. At least with Ball we have an above average 3pt shooter at both guard spots.

The Lakers have met and spoken with Lonzo Ball. They have developed a strategy in order to get him into a Lakers uniform. They could have easily forewarned him about the 'leaks' and to 'pay no attention' to these reports and know that this is the course of business to make Lonzo in LA happen so it won't hurt his feelings. If this is even coming from the FO...if this is from reporters, then it's a good time to start writing their names down so we can laugh at them later and dismiss any future information from them.

It is very entertaining to me.

I think it's as simple as Ball not looking like he's in too physical condition and some people that were there mentioning it to someone. No master plan, no front office scheme. Just an irrelevant observation that moved the needle but ultimately not something the front office will factor into their decision.

More like they took his comments from the interview and used it against him to continue the media's agenda against the Ball family.... but at the end of the day...

"It was hard to estimate how many reporters were in attendance. My ballpark figure puts it at more than 50, less than 80. There was a brief debate among our number about whether the media mass was closer to a “plethora” or a “crap ton.” Either way, the general consensus was that it was the biggest turnout for a Lakers predraft workout in a long while — bigger than those for Brandon Ingram, D’Angelo Russell, or Jahlil Okafor."

Is all you need to know.

Hello Laker fans;

Just wanted to say I would place money on Boston taking Fultz #1. Also I think one problem with L.Ball is that his father is his trainer. That worked well for H.S., but it will not work for the NBA. If he had an agent, the agent would set him up with a pro trainer. Lonzo also needs to fix his Jumper. I do feel Lonzo has star potential, but he will need an adjustment period.

I'd actually feel comfortable betting we will pick Tyler Lyndon with 28 if he falls there.

Love Ball. But I wanted Dennis Smith Jr. coming into the college season and I want him even more now. I think he's Westbrook 2.0. But, I could totally see Ball with career averages of 14pts and 10 assists and him turning us into a winning program on day one. Such a good draft.

The only person I don't want is Fox.

If Ball is gone after number 1 goes, they'd better pick him. He's a fierce competitor, I'd love to add him to our roster.

Russell
J Jackson
Ingram
Randle
Zubać

Good roster to build a champ team from, assuming we'll make a decent trade or two at some point, too.

Russell
J Jackson ----------------- Can't Shoot
Ingram ----------------- Have not proven he Can Shoot
Randle ----------------- Can't Shoot
Zubać ----------------- Have not proved he Can Shoot the three consistently.

You will need a foolproof shooting clinic to make this work.

If FO decides to draft DSJ, we should trade down(#5 and #10?)...

It looks like 2015 all over again. Do you remember when we all thought we were going to draft Okafor? There was a strong unanimity among fellow Laker fans and social media that Okafor was going to be picked. And then, step by step, it looked like DLo was a real possibility...And eventually we FORTUNATELY picked him. Can it happen the same with year with Lonzo fading and Fox/Jackson coming up?

What "strategy" do they need to choose him? They have the 2nd pick and the team choosing 1st isn't going to take him. The only strategy they need is to simply pick him.
