I mean, i don't love it, but I think I would pull the trigger...

thoughts?

yuck  and jenning suck nothing more than an inefficient scorer....look at his fg% thats horrible for a pg and his D is suspect to boot....no way in hell we're taking in that kind of salary in Gooden/Salmons who are of marginal talent.

probaby not much of anything you guys want....best I can think of is Blake/2012 1st/Brown S&T if he agrees and maybe TPE for a player you dont want anymore, maybe tpe for Birdman if you're trying to dump him.

I really don't understand threads like this which ignore simple FACTS, such as NO TRADE CLAUSES (Kobe doesn't want to leave L.A., and won't agree to anything). Using this logic of ignoring facts, we should trade Luke Walton for Lebron and Steve Blake for Chris Paul.

The way I see it, some of you (like myself) are starting to question the "ROI" (return on investment) of Kobe.

- Yes, Kobe still fills the seat. But all you Lakernation fans know damn well that the second this team lose again next year, the boo birds will reign in. Oh yeah, you better bet it's gonna hurt financially when the Lakers don't win games. Remember, this is LA, and when the city's team don't win games, we will just go do something else, like go to the beach, go out with friends, go mountain biking, etc... plenty of things to do.

- Yes Dr Buss is still seen as the grand daddy, but Jimmy Buss is running things now. We know Jimmy's pet project is Bynum. We also know that recently Jimmy hired Brown as the new coach without even bothering to consult with Kobe. Tells me that Jimmy don't give a much of a crap about what Kobe's opinion!

All I can say is the Lakers better win some games for the next 3 years or else the situation could easily go from "championship hopeful" to "boo bird house of gloom".

Man, having an aging superstar taking up huge cap space is like driving an old Porsche. You like to think you're cool 'cause it's a "Porsche" but behind the scene you'll be dumping loads of money into maintaining it, just to keep it running. Kobe is getting to "old Porsche" status.

And you guys don't think the Heat won't be dynasty? Don't be disingenuous! With a core of Wade, Bron, and Bosh locked in, it'll be easy for the Heat to attract ring chasers. Lots of people were saying Heat got no bench at the beginning of the season, and now they're in the Finals.

   first off this guy is an obvious troll. probably some heat or lebron homer coming to gloat on the low, talking about a heat dynasty    ...the people saying the heat had no bench were wade and bron homers trying to give them all the credit. now as for what can kobe get the lakers? hmmm! probably about two more rings if this team comes in focused and concentrates on defense like coach brown wants them too.   at someone thinking kobe is finished or the lakers need to get rid of him. the guy came in after knee surgery and no practice and still gave 25/5/5 on decent percentages. anyone else that is great considering the circumstances.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Really?!?! I think Dr. Buss would disagree with you. Kobe is easily making the lakers much more than they are paying him.

pretty much this. dr buss loves to win but he got a team to make money first and foremost, and kobe does that for him very very well.

We would consider Odom and Walton for Felton and a re-signed K-Mart

I'd also consider the proposed Odom for Felton plus 22 plus re-signed K-Mart deal which Denver seemed willing to do. Then the Lakers sign another capable big man via free agency, combine 2nds to draft one and hope that that's enough as far as that area. They use the 22, plus sign Rasual Butler as a shooter to fill the SG spot and go with Felton/Blake at PG. Pretty good team overall.

What do you guys think about Jose Calderon? He would be a great fit with us now that we have Messina on the coaching staff as he is a pass first PG and great shooter. Would Blake, Brown, and draft picks be enough to get him?

I'd offer Walton, Blake and (1) #2 straight up for Calderon, that's it.

How would we get him? He's a pretty good offensive player, but he's awful defensively. With Kaaaaaaaahn as the GM in Minnesota, I don't see us being able to get anyone from them. That moron thinks every player on his team is some All-Star.

question regarding the Aaron Brooks acquisition. since Brooks is a RFA, the only constraint the Lakers are facing with getting him is his "willingness to play in LA", am I right?

being a RFA, your current team can match any offer other teams will pursue you with and they're ceiling will only be as high as your current team is willing/able to offer you. am I getting this right?

How bad is Jose Calderon defensively? No I mean really, just how bad is he?

Mike Bibby did fine against Derrick Rose with team defense and even though he has Wade-LeBron to help, he doesn't have a true C like Bynum.
