TEAM NEWS
The Lakers are coming off an 97-88 win over the Timberwolves on Friday night in Minnesota. Kobe Bryant missed his second game to rest injuries. Pau Gasol scored 29 point and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Lakers. Jordan Farmar scored 13 and DJ Mbenga scored a career high 11 points.

The Trailblazers are coming off a 83-77 loss to the Mavs at home. The win pulled the Mavs into a tie for second in the Western Conference, while the loss for the Blazers put them in a tie with the Spurs at 48-31 but the Blazers hold the 7th seed by virtue of the season dominance over the Spurs. The Spurs loss to the Grizzlies dealt a severe blow to them, for the moment it puts them as the 8th seed a position they don't want to be in.

thats waht really pissed me off about the denver game, had we won that, that wouldve made 4 games left withe west sewn up. that means, at least to my logic, pau, kobe, lamar, bynum, fish etc rest for here on it out, maybe use the top 7 guys as the bench to keep the rust off, and give our actual bench(oxymoronic) some real flight time, maybe that can still be done, but an entire week instead of 3-4 days

if we lose this one and Orlando wins out (very possible as Cleveland may rest their starters) then Orlando gets HCA against us

Man I'm from the old school. Line them up & we'll knock them all down. HCA or not.

We'd appreciate it if LA rested their guys and allowed Portland to win tomorrow

we would love to accommodate you, but we can't give your homer announcers that satisfaction.

He's been injured? Whoa, I must've just been too busy to notice recently. This is a bigger game for Portland, but then again, LA needs to build up some momentum before the playoffs so I don't see them backing down either. Good luck guys.

I don't think Kobe should play. I really would like to see him just take off until the playoffs.

Yes Mike Rice and Mike Barrett are homers but that aside, I look for the Lakers to send a
message to a potential first round opponent that they have no business being on the same
court as LA. Whether that's necessary is another matter for a finesse team like Portland is not
a serious playoff contender unless Greg Oden was available to play.

eh, i wouldn't bet on it. this lakers team lacks the focus to do that.

Well we have to sit here and listen to dumb ass Mike Breen, who is absolutely the worst announcer in the league.

Dumb ass Breen makes his first dumb statement of the day, not even knowing the Lakers hold the advantage because of their better record against the East as oppose to the Magic record against the West.

Isn't Breen the announcer for the Knicks?

I'm not optimistic about Portland being competitive in this game but at least
a first round match up with LA should be fun for as long as it lasts. Laker fans
come out in force in the RG and I enjoy talking to them before the game but
there's nothing wrong with seeing them leave before the end of the game
with the Blazers up :D
