Initially, I wanted to post that I hope so, but it sounds like that's a given amongst Lakers fans....

If Orlando loses to Cle on Sunday, Kobe should play and help LA get back hca, then sit. He'd get 6 days off, play 1, then 6 more off. That's plenty.

Its highly unlikely that ORL loses to CLE without lebron, jamison playing

I think kobe is going to do whatever helps his ankle and knee get well. At this point screw conditioning. Kobe can always work his way back into shape while Pau carries the load. I'd rather have a near 100% Kobe that's conditioning isn't up to par than a Kobe that's playing at 75% and in playoffs shape.

After watching kobe trip on his own feet numerous times the last couple weeks it's obvious something isn't withstanding his hard cuts to the basket and that something is giving out whether it be his ankle or knee. I know Kobe is aging, but he doesn't even look like the Kobe from the first 3 months of this season. My thoughts are that the Kobe we've seen the last few weeks isn't enough to get us the chip.

Any word on why his knee is swelling up? I'm guessing he's been overcompensating with that ankle he tweaked again a couple weeks ago? Hopefully it isn't something that'll linger through the playoffs.

Get well Kobe! take the time you need! this team is deep enough to get us through the rest of the season and past the first round.

I was thinking the same thing. Kobe was putting up great numbers until around the half way point of the season. After that he started to get banged up here and there.

alright well let's hope he looks sharp today. Kobe knows his body better than anyone. I'm just hoping he's in tune with it and adapting to the fact that recoveries will be slower as he gets older.

Lakers guard Kobe Bryant will not play in L.A.’s final two games of the regular season due to the avulsion fracture on his right index finger.

He's doing the right thing by sitting out these last two games.

Good. He needs to take a few days off. I wouldn't mind him sitting out a game or two of the first round, just so he is fresh and healed when we really need him.

The franchise gets 2 more games off. He needs the summer off. Shut him down in the summer and get him 100 percent. Kobe looks drained and the playoffs have not even started.
