So did Steve Blake just audition?

Triple double?

He's not my #1 option, but I'd throw 2-3 mil his way easy. Just seems like a triangle guy.

I would agree that Blake would be a great fit here, since he can play both PG and off-guard (when Kobe has the ball).

However, I don't think 2-3M will be enough - closer to MLE is my guess.

Was it EE who used to suggest Blake as our PG about 4 years ago? Pretty sure people thought he was crazy then. Good man.

Yeah I suggested him a few years back as well, always liked his game and he was a winner in college.

MLE money for him is..... eh... not so sure about that as much as I like him. Only FA PG I'd throw that at right now is probably CJ Watson because of his youth and upside.

Sucks because this market will probably bid him and a lot of other guys out of our reach...

by what would jack bauer do?
I wouldn't mind taking blake or outlaw... or mardy collins. Blake is just as bad at guarding the quick point guards as Dfish though. I've seen him get lit up quite a few times, but at least he's solid against big pgs and some sgs. Outlaw would be great insurance at the 2/3 if Kobe or Luke have another injury plagued year; this guy is clutch and is starter caliber, plus he'd give our second unit some spark. Mardy Collins is a high IQ player, can play point, a great wing defender, and a terrible shooter... but for the min he's a great deal.

I still like Patty Mills for our team though. He'd fill a huge need for us, he can shoot and he's a quick little guard himself. Who cares if he's not a pure point and can't create for himself, he'd bring quickness, energy, and some solid shooting. I'd trade our grizz 2nd rounder for him.

We're talking about an opposing PG playing the Lakers here. Mike Penberthy would explode for 20 and 10.

Possibly but I do think that Kevin Durant's auditions begin on Sunday.

I'd like Blake in LA. I don't see him as a starter, or a long-term solution, but he's scrappy and plays solid defense. It doesn't hurt that he can hit the long-ball.

I think I remember someone named "Milesfide" (?) was harping for him. I think he also made an "angry" post when he scored big in a Blazer upset win. That's what I remember.

I wouldnt be suprised if the Lakers offered him a 3 year/ 20 million dollar contract. He would be a solid pick up. Shoots 39'% from three for his career and plays solid defense. He could also run the offense for the 18 minutes or so that Odom isnt in the game.

I really doubt Blake is worth the full MLE maybe half of it. Although Blake fits some of the Lakers needs with his shooting and PG skills I don't think he'll be much better at defending the western conference PG's than Fisher is. I think the Lakers top FA option should be Felton if he stays in Charlotte or goes somewhere else the next option should be splitting the MLE between Livingston and Will Bynum they give the Lakers quickness and size on defense they're not great shooters but the Lakers can find that from somewhere else. If those options don't pan out I can see a potential sign and trade with the Twolves for Sessions that includes Farmar and maybe a draft pick and also there is a chance that Hinrich could be available again depending on how the Bulls summer goes.

He IS in LA, (the Clip's) LOL

Lakers need to throw the entire MLE into getting the BEST PG out there...PERIOD, you start looking for a $2 or $3 mil PG and it will NOT be an upgrade.

I am fine with Mr. Blake, if that is what Phil, Mitch and Jim decide...

C.J. Watson would be a nice fit for Lakers

Watson would be great for the Lakers if the Lakers were still Minneapolis I would say they had a chance at him but since the Lakers are in LA in the same division as the warriors they will match whatever Watson gets from LA since he is an RFA.
