Lakers Crowd - A Non Factor

Post#1 » by VanExeleNT » Tue Apr 27, 2010 3:24 am

I know this is beating a dead horse, kind of like what the spurs seem to be doing. :)

Seriously though, I am at a loss of words, I know that we have gotten used to of our crowd being completely insignificant but I just don't see that as acceptable. I am literally out of words to describe how bad our crowd is. I have no words.

The lights out campaign needs to be eliminated for the playoffs. I know what some will say, great teams don't need the crowd but that is the point of the HOME COURT. Its not just about being able to play where the colors on the floor match your uniform, its about affecting the other teams play and boosting your own through momentum and energy.

How can people be on their Cell Phones or carry on a conversation with each other in a 6 point game in the 4th quarter in the PLAYOFFS! Why can't we have a sea of PURPLE or SEA OF YELLOW! WHY! Why can't the fans stand up and stay up in a close game!

Dr. Buss I understand those tickets are overly priced so only laid back celebrities and rich people who care too much about how they appear to others can actually sit there. But please figure out a way to make them cheer, help me so I don't pull my hair out when I see everyone sitting there quietly as the other team mounts a comeback! I feel like some of these people are there to watch a damn opera from the balcony instead of the LAKERS in the PLAYOFFS!

Help me out guys, seriously I know again I'm beating a dead horse but what can seriously be done?! Anybody know anyone significant that can get some sort of message across to someone of importance to DO SOMETHING! lol seriously I'm going to break my TV if that stupid crowd sits their quietly in a close playoff game again. its a SERIOUS PROBLEM, just as much as our issues at the point guard position to me. Just as much as our soft label!!

Seriously!

GOOD NIGHT! GO LAKERS GAME 5!! TAKE AWAY THE LIGHTS OUT BS FOR THE PLAYOFFS AND GET SOME MATCHING SHIRTS FOR THE CROWD TO SPARK SOMETHING IN THEM! thats my idea!

just do a game five where all the overpriced corporate tix are unavailable and ask that only the rabid fans come and snatch up cheap tickets. Do that for one game and even the executive do nothings will get the hint. The problem isn't LA fans, it's that tickets aren't going to LA fans.

Its pretty bad in section 106 when I'm cheering and people look at me and are "why are you so loud"

People feel self-conscious to cheer at the Lakers games in the play-offs?!?!?

i agree 100000000%

either make the tickets cheaper for the real fans
or
make the rich celebrities cheer (nicholson being the only exception)

Couldn't agree more. I'm a pretty loud cheerer, and it sickens me when people back at me with look that look like "shut up, I'm trying to enjoy the game."

I agree with that the lights out campaign needs to be eliminated for the playoffs. Sitting in the darkness and not being able to see the rest of the crowd can't possibly be good for the crowd noise or home court. Giving out yellow shirts would certainly help as well.

What? And disallow Buss to generate enough profit to pay those hefty extensions to Bryant, Pau, and Andrew Bynum? You must be

Now if Buss traded Bryant like I've been calling for, your suggestion would be more than doable. Unfortunately, ticket prices will continue to increase, too bad the quality of the product won't

How about we trade you instead? Get us a nice round of potato chips for our Lakers board in return. GTFO with that talk.

fail...stop feeding your need to be overly contrarian, until you do its appetite will only grow.

I haven't been to a game in so long, $. The few times I've been to Staples, 5-7 times, people spend more time getting beer and food than they do watching the game. I must of had to get up 25 times to let people get by, it's annoying, sit the f down front runners.

The Forum crowds were always awesome, Staples is not nearly the home court advantage.

Although I'm not a big fan of the Lakers crowd either, props to those fans tonight for being loud and chanting defense when it's a 27 point game in the 3rd.

what we lack in crowd noise we make up in teams being distracted by the LA party scene and celebs and breathing in LA smog , temp hurting their lungs and making them tired

I think having a good crowd is over rated. you start relying on it too much, then when you are on the road and its not there it hurts you a lot more than if you never rely on it.

i'm convinced that without the taco chants we would have ended up the #1 defense in the league. teams chuck up 3 pointers and foul us at the end of game just to run up the score.
