IMO, i woulda had Ron over Kobe...Sure kobe plays great defense when he wants to...But he doesnt do it enough....thats just me though

EDIT: i see theyre doing it by positions...I dnt have a problem about the other 4 forwards above Artest...although it is debatable

lmao at Wade on the second team...do the voters consider the number of possessions a player takes off? or at least the number of possessions he doesn't even cross halfcourt?

I thought it was going to Wade this year and Ron definitely deserved to be there.

Wade is relentless when he wants to be, racks up huge steals and blocks for a guard. Wade taking plays off? Dude is a beast with that group can you blame him for taking it easy a few plays (which I haven't noticed), it's almost pointless he has to do it all for them to win a game, they need help.

I'd switch out Kobe and Wade on the first team, but nice that Kobe got it, 24 roams so much and gives up a lot of threes becauses he dares guys to shoot.

i forgot which announcer it was, probably hubie brown, that just torched wade for constantly taking plays off on defense. basically accused him of always strolling back to the defensive end instead of hustling.

exactly, "when he wants to be." I'll be the first to admit Kobe's D has not been great for a few years now...he gambles way too much, reaches, plays downright terrible position defensive on many occasions, but Wade is worse.

I know you know the game well, so I really can't believe you're arguing me on this point. Wade plays true, hard D, maybe 60% of the game. This has nothing to do with the team you play with, I'm talking pure one man defensive and consistent effort. I love Wade's game when he's playing hard, but IMHO he disrespects the game more than ANY other superstar by taking so many plays off (a la TMac during his later years with the Magic).

Whether or not Kobe has coasted these past few years (and he has), he still is one of the better perimeter defenders in the league and one of the best at his position ever. Congrats.

yeah, it was during the Heat/Clippers game, IIRC. I would love to be coached by this guy! One of my fav commentary guys, too...right up there with JVG.

I give it to Ron just to give him a little ego boost. Kobe I bet really does not care about such things since it happens ever year. Kobe only wants one thing.

When he wants to be, Kobe does not deserve to be on this team.

Ah the benifits of being Kobe Bryant! I can't count how many times I've yelled at my TV for leaving his man open the entire game.

agreed thats like being OKAY with lebron james winning the MVP every year for the next 3 years if he averages 20ppg 4rpg 4apg, because we knw hes capable of 30/8/8

Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Are you sure it was because of Wade taking plays off? Cuz I think it was because the Heat stink and Kobe is on the 2nd best team in the NBA.
