So The King Is Dead............Again

Post#1 » by Anklebreaker702 » Fri May 14, 2010 2:57 am

This thread is not to defame LBJ at all. What it's about is the league always trying to take a player & make him the next poster boy.

When Bird & Magic were the faces of the league it was because they were winning everything.
From 1980-1988 if Magic didn't win it, Bird did with the exception of the '83 Sixers. After those 2 teams plus the bad boy Pistons got too old then Jordan took over. Not only was he a phenomenal talent he was winning everything. There was no rival for Michael. Not only was he winning everything at that point he took the game to another level.

Le Bron is an awesome talent but he hasn't won anything, only been to the Finals once & got swept in that effort. He has had the best record for the past 2 seasons & ousted before the Finals last year & ousted before the ECF's this year. Yet he's the best player in the league over Kobe & Wade? This is why the league needs to stop making poster boys & let the chips fall where they may. In closing all I have to say is before somebody can be labeled a King, they must 1st have a Crown.

Unless we win the championship, I firmly expect the Lebron free agency to get more press than the NBA finals.

By the way if Bron bolts, the Cavs are still in a really good situation financially but lets face it, Cleveland, Memphis and Toronto are the last places any big superstar would ever want to play in.

I think it's firepower. they just don't have enough firepower. lebron's supporting cast are not rated right. some people overrates them some people underrates them.

LeBron doesn't have the killer instinct i've said it before he fakes the funk. Now can we stop the Kobe comparisons for a while. All i'm saying he better find a team and get right. Cos Wade could rejoin Miami and reload and be headed back to the finals. Will Bron sits in Cleveland. Without a chip... Without a ring...

Always been the key to beating Cleveland is to score. If you score 90 and above you will likely win. Once Cleveland couldnt defend Boston, it was over with. The same with last year, once Cleveland couldnt defend Orlando it was over with. Cleveland can not win with offense.

Also, there is a flaw with Cleveland defense. They are not talanted defensive wise. They play good team defense but they are not good individually. Playoffs time, teams expose their weakness in their defense. hhaha rhymes

They just extended Varejao in the offseason, Mo has 3 years left on his contract making 9 mil a year, Jamison is owed 28 mil in the next two years, and they still have Gibson on the book until 2013. If Lebron leaves they're pretty much screwed.

True enough, but wherever he bolts to he's probably going to go right back to square 1

Everything that Lebron is going through is because of the media. All this negativity is because the media hyped him up so much and constantly tried to brainwash people that the Cavs are going to win the championship. That is why Lebron's elimination is so sweet. Because the media has been defeated. At times the media can be far more powerful than everything else in sports. This Lebron elimination is a shocking blow to the media but those scumbags will now make more stories out of it.

4 days ago I would have bet he stayed, but now I'm not so sure.

his decision will say alot about him wanting to win a chip more than wanting the big spotight or a bigger stage.

I remember when I found out Shaq was headed to L.A. I ran through the house screaming like a freakn mad man....freakn Lakers are back!!!!

They won 61 games this season, didn't they? Didn't they win 67 last year? Clearly, that means the front office did their job. Now it's up to him.

It's like Kobe said when they got better as a team, "Mitch and the Lakers organization did the work, now it's up to us." LBJ has got to look in the mirror.. clearly the ability of the Cavs is there.

yea, the NBA is gonna wind up being like the major soccer leagues (premier, la liga, Italian) where there is 4 teams stacked with the best players and they compete in conference finals each year. The best GM will be more important than MVP.
