Lakers Will Have to Exercise the Demons

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Tue May 18, 2010 9:06 am

The Lakers will have to exercise their demons and past failures to win this year.

1st: We will have to beat the Suns.
2nd: We will have to overcome the Celtics w/o Bynum being healthy.

Make no doubt about it. The Suns (to a lesser extent) and the wanna-be-hard Celtics will target injured players just like Baby pulled on Shaq's thumb.

"If he's banged up, we're going to try to bang him up some more. There's no mercy man." - Amare
The Celtics wont go on record saying this but they are going to try to take Bynum, Kobe and everyone out by going for injuries.

We are a team that promotes sportsmanship and that kids can emulate. I don't want my kids to grow up to be like KG (picking on scrony kids half their size), or like Pierce (the actress, I rooted for him to get back up because I want to beat a team at full stregth) or Sheed. I can't stand that these guys have a title and the actress has an Finals MVP award.

What we have going for us is the sting of past defeat. The Lakers have 1 chance to exercise their demons and atone for past loses. This will be for the title. It will be for this team's place in history separating us from them with a back to back championship. It will be for Kobe's legacy. It will be for another season with the best coach of all time. It will be for LA and for showing the world that true sportsmanship and team virtues can overcome ill intentions. It will be to show that LA is a team of warriors.

Go Lakers!

We will see if the Celts make the finals. I hope so. I think they are the toughest matchup for us, but you got me, this revenge will make this team a true historic dynasty. Beating the Celtics we close the circle.

kobe bryant and sportsmanship shouldn't be in the same sentence.

warning sent, sheed kg and pierce at least have not been arrested period. And all three give way more money to charity then your unkid friendly team.

be careful what you ask for wow you know bring it...if that's the way you want to be..

Hah, captain green is obviously a celtic fan but he's pretty funny. I think its kind of ridiculous to talk about giving away to charities because none of us have the raw numbers. On the main note why i decided to drop my first post is that LA and Boston are definitely hoping for that matchup. As a monster laker fan, you better believe I think they will take anyone out, starting with Phoenix. Their play so far has just improved and improved to the point that I can't see another team beating them in 7 games...then again....the lakers were supposed to get pushed to 7 by OKC, 6 by Utah and lose to the Suns in 6 according to Mr. Hollinger of ESPN...so Captain Green, join John Hollinger and all the other people rooting for an LA failure and not seeing how well they have been playing. They always play to their opponent, its how every great team eventually becomes...but now its the playoffs and you're dealing with a different fire. I picked Boston-LA as the finals long before LeBron showed his business aka human side because Rondo is ridiculous, but our help defense has supported Fisher and will continue...

7 more and counting...

Kobe's post-Shaq legacy is really developing now. Last year the title run word was REDEMPTION and this year its REVENGE. I love it, i'm so pumped up! Hoping we close out these Suns and wait for the winner of the ECF, which is likely to be the Celtics in 6, that's what i'm thinking.

This can, will, & must be done. This will cement Kobe's post Shaq legacy & start the talk of a new dynasty.

Yep. They punked us out in '84. We actually should have swept them or at the most took it in 5. They started rough housing & we fell for it. We concentrated so much on not being punked & roughing them up we forgot to play our game & lost in 7. Then we came back in '85 & showed them who was boss with a 37 yr old KAJ winning MVP. ( I don't think you'll ever see that again from a 37 year old player)
