Amare says Odom got lucky

Post#1 » by RamonSessions7 » Tue May 18, 2010 10:13 pm

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/n ... id=5199267
"I'm not giving him no hype right now; he had a lucky game in Game 1," Stoudemire said after Suns practice Tuesday at Staples Center. "We just got to make sure we box him out. I think I focused so much on [Pau] Gasol and [Andrew] Bynum to where he snuck in there and got 19 boards, so now we just got to make sure there's three guys out there that can rebound well [when] adding Odom. So, we got to do a better job on them."

Odom barely batted an eyelash when told about Stoudemire's claim after the Lakers finished practice.

"So be it," Odom said. "Hopefully I can have another lucky one."

What a terrible excuse by Amare. Saying a guy "snuck in" 19 times on him for a rebound. You think he wouldve caught on after 4 times or maybe 15 or 18.

I'm happy about this.

Odom is a quiet guy, but can still be firey and isn't one to back down from things like this on the court.

Keep it coming Amare, next time say something about Kobe

this is where we totally confuse them.

focus on lamar, we give bynum extended minutes and he becomes a huge factor on the inside. watch bynum, then bang . . . we hit you with gasol.

the diversity of our game is a great attribute to have

EL SEGUNDO — Lamar Odom wasn’t at all interested in a war of words with Phoenix’s Amar’e Stoudemire.

“Hopefully I can have another lucky one,” Odom said after being told Tuesday of Stoudemire’s assessment of Odom’s “lucky” Game 1 with 19 points and 19 rebounds. “It’s all good.”

Odom said any sort of trash talk is just the “same old, same old.” He also didn’t want to make too much of his game, saying: “It’s just one game, you know.”

Suns coach Alvin Gentry, who used to coach Odom with the Clippers, did not seem happy with Stoudemire’s comment.

“That’s a ridiculous statement,” Suns coach Alvin Gentry said. “It’s not a lucky game, OK? He played great. The guy is capable of playing great. We have to do a better job on him.

“If we let him get to the basket and lay it in, I’m going to say it’s probably not luck. He’ll make whatever he shot — nine out of 11 or whatever it was. We have to do a better job on him. I would not call it a lucky game, no."

can't believe the part about focusing too much on pau and drew, that they forgot about lamar.

but justblaze hit it head on, lamar's a quiet dude...but he's not backing down from anyone. (see: kevin garnett)
Thank you, Phil.

Amare you're lucky...

Lucky you have a HOF pg getting you your shots in motion or underneath the basket for an easy layup or dunk.

Lucky your ugly big nose doesn't scare off all the chicks.

You're lucky the league lets you keep your 6'10" height in the media guide and all over the internet when your really just 6'-8" with hops.

You'll be lucky next year when someone backs up the brinks truck for you, you better hope they have a hall of fame PG there or your expected numbers will be shorter than anticipated.

You're unlucky because all those ignorant comments just got you was a possible Suns one win in game 3 to a more likely Laker sweep.

These next two comments aren't facts, but I bet I'm not far off...LO is likely the best rebounder in the league per minutes played. If he got starters minutes he could lead the league in rebounding.

Obviously Amare didn't watch enough film.

Its not luck when the Suns defenders are parting the lane like the red sea for LO to lay it in.

Hey Amare how about you learn how to play defense first before you open your mouth you loser for a guy that plays with one of the top pg's in the game you would think he would be a little more humble
