Jackson at it again

Post#1 » by The Skyhook » Tue Jun 1, 2010 5:20 pm

"He was smacking Howard's arm and finally he was called for an offensive foul," Jackson said of Garnett. "That's not our team. We don't go out there and smack people around."

He's putting the refs on notice. Good sign for us because it tells us PJ isn't going to stand for the crap they do out there. If the refs weren't going to protect the Lakers well they better start thinking about it now.

I say we do the pushing before the Celtics do, they don't like having their backs up aginst the wall. I think it was Webster from Portland that said the Celtics don't like to be pushed back, they like to bully other teams around. not this time around I say we slap the S**H out of them this time around

I'm sure Phil already has this on his mind but having the game called fairly when it gets to out of hand is what Phil might be gunning for.

Webster is not the only one who said it if I recall. I can't remember who said it. When the Celtics are given a taste of their own medicine they crawl crawl back into their caves. Remember Lamar and KG. The moment Lamar stepped up to KG the Celtics had no idea what hit them. Then Kobe gave Rondo a little taste of his. These two teams hate each other. They might say they respect one another but its all B.S. These Finals aren't going to be like 08. Think more of those regular season match ups when the Lakers didn't back down to them.

You guys have a point. Dwight Howard sent two Celtics to the hospital and tried to send a third, all in one game. He didn't even get called for a flagrant foul, but a Celtic got ejected from that game.

If the Lakers play like the contemptible punks you guys evidently want them to, they'll probably get away with it too.

And by the way, in the plays in question, KG hacked at a guy who was fouling him. So of course he got called for it. Naturally, Jackson is cheering that kind of referee bias on.

The biggest surprise to Celtics fans in the playoffs so far is that the refs have not been CONSISTENTLY biased against them. Most notably, the second half the Cleveland series was called fairly (not always accurately, of course, but the errors were more or less evenly apportioned), as was the first part of the Orlando series.

Who did Howard send to the Hostpital?

I saw his elbow come down and give Baby bell ring.

I saw Daniels dribble into Gortats body and fall to the ground.

I missed the other one though.

Davis and Daniels went off for tests. I'm guessing "hospital", to be honest, because MRIs and multiple doctor visits were surely involved, and at least in Boston most (not all) of such visits happen in and around hospitals.

Daniels was hit by Howard too. He has a more severe concussion than Davis does. That was not just from running into Gortat.

Earlier in the same game, Howard brought his armpit down hard around the back of Pierce's neck and kept pushing him down to the floor. All "odor" jokes notwithstanding, that's something that could hurt a guy pretty badly too.

Perkins, meanwhile, got a technical for HELPING HIS TEAMMATE UP OFF THE FLOOR.

Celtics on Sports Center talkin about PJ. Doc is saying that Rondo, PP, and Ray are going to be pissed because Phil didn't target them since all of Phil's mind game targets are the team's bets player.

Right after the ESPN people said forget the Finals what about Lebron. I thought we were over this. Damn the guy will never go away.

They're not mind-games. They're stupid observations that Phil amuses himself with to see how the media takes it. Perhaps even to see the mental attitude of the other team. Durant was aggressive, Nash not so much, the Celtics clearly aggressive.

Mind games or not, he shouldn't talk about KG. He'll come over and punch Jackson if he wants to

Gortat's chest and Howard's rapidly descending elbow.

Our experience is actually that Garnett picks on sissy's. I was shocked to see he even touched Howard, but make no mistake LO has owned KG and his fake tough guy act:

My thoughts exactly. if things get out of control physically, we need to let DJ into the frey to restore order. He can be extra physical and even mix it up to protect anyone. He is expandable for a suspension but others aren't so much.

I hope Odom spanks his tight little ass so hard. He can bend him over if he needs to. That will teach mean old KG a lesson.

Playing tough physical basketball and being a tough guy are two completely different things. Physical basketball is not about beating people up in a fight. It is setting good aggressive picks, holding your position on the block, fighting through screens, boxing out, and not allowing easy lay ups. Of course most Western Conference fans do not really grasp this because the games they are watching most frequently are relatively soft.
