There are news reports that John Wooden is in GRAVE condition.
What a great ICON from LA sports and the GOAT college coach.
Links to come.
Former UCLA basketball coaching legend John Wooden was being treated Thursday at UCLA Medical Center, according to a broadcast report.
KCAL9/CBS2 reported that Wooden, 99, was in grave condition after being hospitalized Sunday and he has refused to eat for the past couple of days.
A UCLA spokesman could not immediately confirm the report.
Wooden, known as "The Wizard of Westwood," coached the UCLA men's basketball team to an unprecedented 10 NCAA championships in his last 12 seasons, winning a record seven consecutively from 1967 to 1973.
The Bruins won a record 88 consecutive games from 1971-74 and 38 consecutive NCAA tournament games from 1964-74.
But the record Wooden said he is the most proud of is his team's 19 conference championships

Absolute legendary coach. It will be a sad day if this results in a passing.
Not to make a joking light of the matter, but his fall in health ironically coincides with the Celtics practicing in Pauley Pavilion....
Bastards

My prayers are with him and his family.
I have a poster in my office which shows the pyramid of success by Coach Wooden that I live by.
I encourage everyone to check this out. I've never met the man but he has touched my life in many ways.
"Success is a peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming" John R. wooden

Wooden is still alive, it was a false report of death. Bad shape but he's still there coaching up the nurses at the moment.
Wooden, Phil, Lombardi, and the guy phil passed up last year are the best if the legends imho

Greatest college coach ever, better person, humanitarian. I saw Wooden & Scully @ the NOKIA theater a year or so ago, they were both brilliant, it was such a treat.
