MISSION.........WIN THE SERIES

Normally I post stats, history and game analysis. It's no need for all that now, the Lakers know what needs to be done. Sunday could very well been our last home game, they blew it. Now the series is tied. Percentages say the Lakers will win 1 in Boston, but that's not the goal.

Yes we were all upset, disgusted and furious with the Game 2 loss. Yes we all made rash statements, myself included. Bottom line winning a title is never easy, it's never been done without some adversity. This is nothing the Lakers can't overcome.

Now is the time to put forth the will and effort it's going to take. If the Lakers are going to continue this march toward history, they have to find out what tics in their chest over the next 7 days. This stage is where a player cements his legendary status, this opportunity now sits squarely in front of Kobe, Phil, Pau, Fish and the rest of the guys.

This next week could separate these Lakers from any class that's ever put on that uniform. Only because of which team sits in the way.

The great Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu once said," Confront them with annihilation, and they will then survive; plunge them into a deadly situation, and they will then live. When people fall into danger, they are then able to strive for victory."

This is where it stands for them, it's easy to see from Sun Tzu's quote what needs to be achieved. Here's another of Tzu's quotes that definitely holds true for the Lakers.......

" If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles. "

The hypothesis here is this......the Lakers know the Celtics but the Lakers know themselves and what they can do as a team. And if they fight the fight and carry it they'll be victorious no matter what. Bottom line it's time to go out there and get the job done, cement your legacy. It's in their hands now. All we can do as fans is wait for the outcome. This a fight the Lakers must carry.

This is about the will to win, the will to fight, the will to show heart. This is what the Lakers must do.

IT'S TIME FOR WAR. IT'S TIME TO FIGHT........LET'S GO TO BOSTON AND GET THIS !

The effort they gave does not worry me, they fought all game, so did the green team but the problem for the Lakers were mental errors on part of the Lakers and the refs (how can you review a play in slow motion and still get it wrong).

Keys to Victory:

Eliminate the crowd early! Unlike our pathetic rich celebrity crowd, the Boston crowd will have a huge impact on the way the game is called and played early and often, we need to jump on them right away.

Bynum and Gasol need to understand that they will not get calls going their way in the post like they might have tonight, knowing that they have to make smart choices and read the defense and not rush things and give the green team a chance to run with rondo.

please don't forget that ray allen IS the best three point shooter period. Please don't forget that this time. i hate that mf.

LAMAR ODOM - NUFF SAID. when he has 15+ rebounds, i don't know what our record it but it has to be just as astonishing as the 47-0 record that Phil has after winning game 1 of any series.

I know that game 2 was huge because now we have to win 1 just to come back and still be down 2-3. With that being said I don't think we can win TWO in a ROW in boston. so what that means is that game 3 is a MUST MUST WIN! we can take game 3 and 5 but not 4 and 5, IMO. lets get game 3!

LETS DO IT LAKERS, STAY STRONG MENTALLY AND GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT.

No, it is not an "EZ" win, you do realize our guards only consist of Farmar, Brown and Sasha. Neither of those do I have more trust in than Fish in the playoffs, even if Fish is old and slow.

Well ladies and gentlemen, this at the moment is our pressing issue. After what I saw the other night, I wasn't sure what exactly to say to get the troops rallied.

After calming down for a little bit....let's get this going.

Image

**

Game 3 was a pathetic showing. Simple and plain. It was just plan out BAD. I'm gonna forgo the quotes and just call out this guy.

Image

Listen Lamar. Since the beginning of the series, we all had very high hopes for you. We knew that you would be primed for an awesome performance off the bench for us. We believed that you would literally run circles around Glen Davis and Rasheed Wallace en route to win after win in this series. That hasn't been the case. Instead, Glen Big Baby Davis has turned you into his personal bitch. He's made sweet love to you night after night, and all you've managed to do in response is jack up a stupid long range jumper. You're 6'10 damnit!

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-lak ... 0365.story

Reporting from Boston -- Lamar Odom has been considered a stand-up guy, a guy who never shies away from his shortcomings, a guy who takes on his failures and deals with them head on, and a guy who will stand before the media and take his medicine.

The Lakers now need Lamar Odom to be a stand-up guy on the court, in the NBA Finals, against the Boston Celtics.

More than ever, the Lakers can't have the Odom who is not a factor in these championship games against the Celtics, who is not aggressive, who is not playing to a level that can help the team.

With Lakers center Andrew Bynum able to play only 12 minutes and 10 seconds in Game 4 because of continued swelling in his right knee, more pressure was placed on Odom to be productive.

He didn't quite respond.

Odom had 10 points on five-for-10 shooting and seven rebounds in the Lakers' 96-89 loss to the Celtics on Thursday night at TD Garden, but his output wasn't enough.

"You have to be aware of what Andrew gives us and what we have to make up for and what Lamar gives us," Odom said. "When you lose someone like Andrew, everybody is going to have to have faith and trust and be committed."

Indeed, the Lakers lost Bynum's seven-foot, 285-pound frame, his physical presence and his ability to put pressure on the Celtics offensively and defensively.

It's just that Odom has to step into that void now with Bynum hurting, with the best-of-seven series tied at 2-2.

He started the second half while Bynum stayed in the locker room getting treatment on his knee.

It was not Odom's best half, especially on defense.

He had just one rebound in the second half, in 21:52. He did have six points in the fourth on three-for-four shooting.

But his counterpart off the bench for the Celtics, Glen Davis, was a star, scoring nine of his 18 points in the fourth quarter when the Celtics took control.

Davis grabbed an offensive rebound because no one boxed him out.

He scored on a put-back while being fouled by Odom.

Lakers Coach Phil Jackson called time with 8:22 left and his team reeling from the physical and aggressive play by Boston.

Davis made the free throw after the timeout, giving the Celtics a 71-64 lead.

Odom did hip-check Nate Robinson for a foul midway through the fourth quarter, one of Odom's few aggressive plays in the game.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=d ... kers061010

The one certainty is that Lamar Odom isn’t going to volunteer to save the Lakers. Odom has always been most comfortable as a role player, not the star. That isn’t going to change, even as the Lakers grow desperate for him to step up.

Someone needs to make something happen inside. Someone has to stop Glen Davis(notes) from pouring in 18 points. Someone has to play bigger than usual.

“He’s 7-foot, 300 pounds,” Odom noted of Bynum.

Odom finished the game with 10 points and seven rebounds. He had his moments, but he wasn’t engaged for stretches early in the game.

“I thought Lamar was going to kind of sit this one out,” Phil Jackson said. “He wasn’t having any success and I though the scoring Davis did at the other end of the floor affected Lamar’s game."

In other words, Lamar Odom was a vagina. Either man the hell up, or satisfy yourself with just ONE ring. Stop being a bitch and play hard for once!

That about sums THAT part up....

In spite of the utter nonsense that was witnessed out there, it was still a winnable one. As of right now, the series is 2-2. Tonight is the night when we make it 3-2 in OUR favor. I can't even begin to tell you how amazingly important this game is..especially with potentially two more games left in the series.

Image

We have withstood the best punches of the best teams in the league, only to stand strong above them. Even though we are stronger than we have ever been, it has reached the point where our current enemies from Boston have grown expectant of victory!

Do not let the splendid play of Glen Davis fool you men! We may be outnumbered, outhustled and outscored, but our fighting spirits are stronger! Only a champion forces a force greater then theirs to struggle to match our power! Raising their level to heights not yet seen in these Playoffs, they surprised us in our last battle, and yet we battled them to a standstill, before a critical error in the 4th gave them the victory.

It's true. Game 4 pissed a lot of Laker fans off. *Cough*

Image

Oops...I sneezed.

Are we to let something like Game 4's tough loss discourage us? Surely our testicles exist in this world of Irish Madness! As Laker Warriors, are we the ones to hand the championship to that wretched beast from the East (KG, Paul Pierce, Rajon and the like)? I for one will be damned! Revenge continues tonight, and we will NOT allow them to emerge victorious! Time and energy is on our side!

Image
Image

With the miracle brilliance of Glen Davis and Nate Robinson stunning us last game, are we to retreat into the obscurity of a shocked team? NO! We have fought hard to get to this place, and now is NOT the time to shrink into the endless cave of the many losers of yesteryear.

Led by the excellence of Pau Gasol, Kobe Bryant and resilient Andrew Bynum, we will line up for what many thought will be our last stand, and WE WILL WIN!!!!

Rondo: Choose your next words carefully, Kobe. They may be your last as MVP.
Kobe Bryant: [to himself: thinking] "Failure and loss"?
[Kobe unsheathes and points his sword at the overgrown Leprechaun’s throat]
Rondo: Madman! You're a madman!
Kobe Bryant: Failure and loss? You'll find plenty of both at home.
Rondo: No man, Laker, Cavalier, or Magician, no man threatens a Celtic!
Kobe Bryant: You bring the banners and rings of retired champions to my city steps. You insult my Centers. You threaten my people with shame and failure! Oh, I've chosen my words carefully, Celtic. Perhaps you should have done the same!
Pierce: This is blasphemy! This is madness!
Kobe Bryant: Madness...?
[shouting]
Kobe Bryant: WE ARE LOS ANGELES!

WE ARE WARRIORS FROM THE LAND OF MAGIC AND KAREEM!! THE LAND OF WILT CHAMBERLAIN AND JERRY WEST!! THE LAND OF THE IMMORTAL GEORGE MIKAN THAT STARTED IT ALL!

Allen A thousand odds of the Celtic Dynasty descend upon you. Our three pointers will blot out the sun!
Bynum: Then we will bang in the post!

Image

WE WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM US!! WE HAVE COME TOO FAR TO TURN BACK NOW!!!

Kobe, the entire Laker Nation cries out to you. It is upon your shoulders to guide us to the promised land. Listen to those calling out for the heads of you and your men. Our march cannot end at the feet Boston empty-handed again! You must wake up and flood the hearts and souls of the entire league with your greatness if we are to rise again among the Champions! THERE IS NO EXCUSE!!!! The entire team is on your back! You are our champion Kobe! You must reawaken! Now is the time!!

Image

Your warriors are ready. This time around, we will not be as easily pushed around. We have a little more help this time.

Image

Image
Image
Image

It's time to focus, Kobe.

Image
Image
Image

Kobe Bryant: Lakers! Prepare for glory!
Perkins: Glory? Have you gone mad? There is no glory to be had now! Only retreat, or surrender or death!
Kobe Bryant: Well, that's an easy choice for us, Celtic! We Lakers never retreat! We Lakers never surrender! Go spread the word. Let every Warrior assembled know the truth of this. Let each among them search his own soul. And while you're at it, search your own!

Image

Even as we look deep into the eyes of defeat, we must hold our ground! We no longer have the protection of our homeland on our backs, for we are in enemy territory now! This is easily the most hostile territory for a Laker Warrior to be in, as the war between the feuding tribes has stretched back to the days of our forefathers. We cannot allow these brutes to taste victory from our hands! Don't give them any breathing room!

Image

Do we really want to lose to this?!?!

Image
Image

Or...THIS!?!?

Image

Let's ask Kobe. So Mr. Bryant, would you like to lose to the likes of this?

Image

....right. Didn't think so. I'll be damned!

Davis: All that God-King Auerbach requires is this: a simple offering of earth and water. A token of Los Angeles' submission to the will of Garnett.
Kobe Bryant: Submission? Well that's a bit of a problem. See, rumor has it the Blazers have already turned you down, and if those former contenders and, uh, floppers have found that kind of nerve, then...
Gasol: We must be diplomatic.
Kobe Bryant: [ignoring Gasol] ... and, of course, Lakers have their reputation to consider.

Image

There is no peace unless victory is attained. We must fight to win this game, for the odds are truly against us from the outset.

Celtic General: Lakers, lay down your weapons!
Kobe Bryant: Stupid Celtic! Come and get them!

GET MAD!!!!

About the only encouraging thing is that Boston is not a good home team and they have little time off.

Lamar Odom still won't show up though. What does he bring to the table against Boston? Pretty much nothing. Expect more poor performances from him that we'll have to somehow overcome. Phil is going to have to do a better job with the rotations and not allow Artest and Odom to be on the floor at the same time. That's a big time disaster.

As for Ray Allen, I suspected that he'd be their leading scorer for the series, but come on -- setting NBA records with his shooting? Unacceptable. I hate Vujacic with a passion, but this is one situation where I'd rather see him out there. He's decent at sticking to his man and being a pest, so I'd rather see him in there instead of Brown who is trash on both ends of the floor.

Kobe has to keep his head in the game as well. He played poorly down the stretch. It's understandable that he took longer to do his thing for fear of fouling out, but keep the ball moving. Also, he needs to attack Allen early in this game and either a) wear him out or b) get him in foul trouble. Make him work on defense instead of settling for long jumpers.

Anyway, no idea what to expect from the next three games. I wouldn't be surprised if we took two out of three or got swept.
