Little late on the news sorry but what Stern just danced around all the question it was sad.
Best way to paraphrase what was said.
Rome:

What is your opinion on the NBA Finals thus far?

Stern:
-really good games, usual swing of emotions, plotlines
-never seen a Ray Allen type shooting performance
-series is far from over

Rome:

What about the officiating?

Stern:

-Always think the officiating is fine. Perfect? No.
-best refs in the world, doing the best job they can.

Rome brings up the Star Treatment Issue:

Stern:

-do you think we should give them star treatment?

Rome:

how about letting them play?

Stern:

-we get accused of giving star treatment…not true
-refs are going out to call the games to the best of their ability
-there is no star treatment
-so if the referee sees a foul, let it go because it doesn’t register as a foul-foul (Rome clarified it as a ticky-tack)?
-want the game called the same way in the first period and as you do in the last period
-it’s not really a science, you make a judgment as to when a foul should be called a foul.
-maybe players should alter their conduct so as to not get called for fouls

Yah he pretty much just said its far from over lol so good thing?

That's why you gotta love Rome, he asks the questions people want to hear answered.

I wrote Mark Heisler this morning for his article in the L.A. Times which is on point with what many believe to be the case.

Undoubtedly, the NBA has to do something about this horrible officiating that's taking place. Its really taking away from such a great sport. I'm not suggesting the stars get "star" treatment, but a good referee has to have some common sense when he chooses to blow the whistle. A bump near half court or a bump from a screen being set is not ultimately impacting the outcome of the play as a hack on a dunk attempt/layup does.

They need to swallow their whistles and let them play freaking basketball. That's all I am saying...

Ask Stern what really went down in Seattle and if he saw that indy movie about it

Ask Stern about Kobe & LeBron deserving more $

Ask Stern if he has any ideas how to make it where Kobe & LeBron can get more and Sasha can get less.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
