DATE/TIME: 06/10/10 @ 6pm PST
WHERE: TD GARDEN
TV: ABC
RADIO: ESPN 710

FOR THIS GAME I'VE DECIDED TO GO HIT THE TIME MACHINE! It's back to the 1985 NBA Finals, Game 5. The date is June 11, 1985.

For those who either weren't born or are unaware of the story behind this game. This is the game where the Lakers take a 3-2 series lead and go on to win their 9th title IN Boston, marking their first NBA Finals win against the hated Celtics and the first time the Celtics lost in the Finals on their home floor, which stands to this day. A year earlier, the Celtics had mopped the floor with the Lakers with Kevin McHale nicknaming Magic "Tragic Johnson" and Larry Bird saying, "I'd like to give them the opportunity to redeem themselves. I'm sure they have guys who feel they didn't play up to their capabilities." <-- Direct hit to Magic.

The Showtime Lakers had nothing but their 84 Finals collapse in mind and would go on to win the title all starting with this very crucial game 5. We have just won Game 3 men, now it's time to pour salt over that open wound Boston has and take Game 4. Let's seal our fate with history and go for the celebration on Boston's floor. I don't mean to speak too soon, I just know that Magic and the Lakers wanted nothing more than to celebrate history on Boston's home floor! Our Lakers must want the same, they must go after the Celtics as if death awaits them should they lose. They must leave it all on the floor, if they do, i'm convinced we will win Game 4 and take a commanding 3-1 lead, and going for the kill in Game 5. One game at a time to carry out this mission boys, let's get 'em!!!!!

As Apollo Creed tells Rocky in Rocky IV:

Apollo: What is the matter with you?!?!
Rocky: Tomorrow Apollo... tomorrow.
Apollo: THERE IS NO TOMORROW!!!

Come June 10th, there is no tomorrow, only Game 4 exists. Us and them... 48 minutes are keeping us from victory... that and an angry Boston team.

STARTING FOR YOUR LAKERS:

THE TIME IS NOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF LA, OUR BOYS MUST TAKE GAME 4! FORGET GAME ANALYSIS AS DEEP SAID, THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE GAME PLAN IS VERY CLEAR NOW... ALL THAT REMAINS IS ITS CONTINUED EXECUTION! GO LAKERS! TAKE THOSE PUNK ASS CELTICS OUT LIKE ITS 1985!!!

Great game thread!!! Let's keep the momentum going, if we can come back from an early deficit on thier home floor and lead most of the way and win a game where kobe scores 4 in the final quarter....then we can win again!!! Don't wait until game 5 to make the statement, lets do it now!! Our time now!!! Go do it for Magic and the crew!!!

Let's hope the Lakers fight for those positions early so mamba doesn't have to jack everything up due to shot clock. Andrew Bynum I hope your OK.

I thought we were the better team on Tuesday--I had no doubt that we would make a run and make the game close, but we weren't able to close it out, and you guys won.

I thought you guys were the better team Sunday, but we won that one.

Don't know what to think about Game 4. Hopefully, the Celtics come out strong, but it's going to be tough, and the same problems--scoring in the half court, rebounding, stopping Bynum/Gasol--are still going to be there.

must win for the celtics, lakers are going to have to match their energy and not be complacent with one win in boston.

This is the key. We did it in game 3. They came out on some type of juiced up dog vomit & we sustained it & pulled through. In game 4 I expect the same thing but KG will not have this type of game again. If we keep playing "D" like we have, we will be up 3-1.

I'm loving the GT miggs ! Great message........"THERE IS NO TOMORROW".

Gotta keep pounding that small front line of theirs on the boards. I've always held the belief that in a 7 game series your inability to do certain things catches up to you.

The Celtics were one of the worst rebounding teams for a reason, they also lack depth at the lead guard. Some here and many around the nation always pile on the Lakers for not having even a quality starting guard. But Fish is a seasoned vet and it's the exact reason I don't freak out during the season with some of his games. Too many of you guys here want every single position to be flawless, that's not reality no team in the league is flawless.

The Celtics struggle mightily when Rondo is off the floor, Nate is who he's always going to be....erratic and streaky. Players like that can only hurt you once in a while but more often than not he's a detriment to his team. Winning Game 4 will put the noose around the Celtics necks, I'll be more than happy to pull the rope that hangs them.........It's time to finish these punks off.

Hell'va GT miggs.

Pfft.......F Durant, you guys gotta remember he's more closer from coming off being a hater than he he is to realizing he now has to beat them. Just a few years ago he was just a fan too.

Kobe is due to win us a game in this series. Win the next game, and we get that much closer to making Paul Pierce's prediction happen.

If odom plays decent again we will have a shot. Whenever he plays good, the rest of the bench seems to play ok (brown / farmar). Kobe needs to be a little more consistent in not settling for such tough shots even when the ball just gets dumped on him late in the clock.

Hope bynum can continue to produce, he is a so big down low and makes it tough on the Cs bigs.

Get 1 more in Boston and the series is ours.

Can anyone confirm if that's indeed Durant's facebook? I thought he was one of the good guys.

Bynum's knee is a concern, PJax said he tweeked it in the third so he sat him.
