NCAA hands USC two-year bowl game ban, major scholarship reduction in football
The penalties come after a four-year investigation into allegations surrounding Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush and former basketball star O.J. Mayo. The Trojans will lose more than 20 scholarships in football.

possibly reggie's heisman and the championship SI writer that broke the story said when all is said and done.

This is a major setback for USC. They can't bring kids in with scholarships and nobody will want to play for them because there is nothing to look forth to beyond the regular season for 2 years. Some guys might even transfer to other schools. The talent level is really going to fall off in these two years and it could take USC a couple years to bounce back to where the once were.

no wonder Pete Carroll bailed. he probably saw this coming. smart man.

I feel bad for the players on the team now.

Also read on the Rivals website that other schools can try to recruit USC's Junior and Senior players

After the Committee on Academic Approval approves schools, USC SRs and JRs will be able to be recruited by other programs. Lane Kiffin and USC will get notified which schools recruit their players.

true, but how im looking at it, it was by keeping mike garrett this entire time, ya know the a.d.? why does he still have job? and if they had fired his ass 2 years ago, carroll may be around still, and this sanction may be greatly weakened...

And that is part of the reason why USC f'ed themselves. USC is not some mid major who are new to the whole star athlete thing.

Ya thats the part that pissed me off, its like he thinks he's done nothing wrong when him his mom and his step dad are a bunch of thieves and crooks and they basically ucked everyone in USC.

Neither player took anything that wasnt OFFERED or GIVEN too them. The blame falls soley on the schools in these scenerios. Sometimes you get caught, sometimes you dont.
