NBA Finals Game 6: BOS @ LAL 6/15 6pm PST on ABC

Post#1 » by miggs » Mon Jun 14, 2010 4:01 pm

After yesterday’s devastating loss, our Laker warriors must now win both home games in order to raise that trophy and get revenge on those Celtics. Game 6 is upon us men, the time has come for all of us to band together stronger than ever and rise against the titan Celtic before us. For every ounce of fear, we must put a pound of courage. For every drop of doubt, we must put a sea of confidence before it.

NBA Finals Game 6 6/15 6pm PST – ABC

Starting for the Celtics…

There will be no game analysis, no pictures for motivation except for this… this is all that matters.

Forget the world, forget all the previous Finals games… this is now a 2 game series in which we MUST go 2-0. It all starts tomorrow night… one game at a time. Defeat is staring at us and taunting us… I for one hope & pray our boys wield out the sword of bravery and strike the heart of the Celtics! I can not sleep peacefully knowing our revenge was not completed… WE CAN NOT ALLOW THESE CELTICS TO CELEBRATE ON OUR HOME FLOOR!!! This is for Elgin Baylor… for Jerry West… for Wilt Chamberlain… for Magic… for the Captain… for the whole city of LA… we need this but do our boys want it? We’ll find out tomorrow night!

If our guys deserve the title, they'll win, it's as simple as that.

Win the first half and we take the game. In games 1 and 3 we didn't have to worry about playing from behind and the result was that Boston never recovered (they are a poor 4th quarter team, after all). It's imperative that we set the tone early so that everyone not named Kobe and Fisher has the confidence to finish the game strong. That is our biggest damn problem. When we have to play catch up ball, guys simply don't keep their wits and it becomes a Kobe chuck fest. That can't happen and we need to get back in this series as a team.

If we dig ourselves into another hole, sadly, we'll be watching the Celtics celebrate in Staples Center.

Fu** all this theatrics, drama, and movie references. This is basketball. This team needs to find there nutsacks and step on that court with an intensity that they have not shown this season. This is the first series that we have been down and we need to see EFFORT and HUSTLE for the next 96 minutes. NO EXCUSES from any player and or fans that step into that building on Tuesday and Thursday.

Boston should not be able to breathe for the next 3 days, let alone get a win in LA. I'm only aware of one guy that will be ready for sure. Everyone else needs to realize what can result from losing another game this season. LAMAR, RON, JORDAN...etc think about the consequences of not showing up and possibly never playing in the finals again in your careers.

IF you need to be pumped up or inspired this late in the season, then you dont even need to suit up.

LAKERS PROBLEMS FROM DAY 1 that the Celtics and only the Celtics magnify the most:

Gasol is mobile and weak : he crumbles like a cookie so he is taking 10 footers and 12 footers over the out stretched arms of Garnett, if they go in great, if they don't its transition Offense for them. He can't back down enough to get great shots, he is relaying too much on his face up game as he always does against great defense that strips and claws at him.

Bynum is strong but not mobile: injury or no injury, the reason andrew bynum does so well in the first 30 games of the regular season is because the pace is slow and the defensive intensity is low and he needs that extra time to make an offensive move and manufacturer a good shot. Even when healthy under extreme defensive intensity andrew bynum is slow in movement and is prone to turn overs.

Kobe Bryant, the celtics better than anyone else play the best off the ball defense on kobe bryant, they make him work to get the ball and worse they make him get it 22 ft away from the basket rather than 15. They don't bite on fakes and they push and shove the entire way, he is such a great player that he can still get off a shot but those are tough shots that even when he is making them, its just him and no one else.

so my belief to fix this!

LAMAR ODOM IN THE POST! LAMAR ODOM IN THE POST! why is a guy who is 7ft always dribbling outside trying to beat his defender to the LEFT (with an impending charge on its way) or why is he always pulling up for long 2's and 3's. I noticed we tried to post up artest a little bit in this series, why not post up lamar!

I am going to start this in a new paragraph so all the phil jackson supporters can copy and come back at me:

Phil jackson is a moron, he has everyone fooled with 10 rings but when it comes to making adjustments he is stubborn! that his is biggest downfall, his stubbornness and come to think of it, his stubbornness might be his greatest strength too but right now its hurting us more than helping.

START LAMAR!!! POST HIM UP get some easy put backs for gasol and let the game flow so we can get buckets close to the basket, I mean the lakers are complaining about defense, they are playing good defense but when you get bad shots you are forced to defend well against layups in transition.

I TRULY TRULY BELIEVE IN THIS SITUATION, GOOD OFFENSE WILL EQUAL BETTER DEFENSE FOR US! we just need to get the ball inside the problem is with the way the celtics bring it on Defense our bigs are designed to crawl into the fetal position. So LETS GET LAMAR closer to the basket and I KNOW he has it in him to get layups in the post, I know he can and if he misses it will open up gasol and odom for easy putbacks and get them going inside.

thats it! i'm sorry for the long thread but i really really don't want to see that disgrace of a green team and a disgrace even to the celtic franchise win on OUR HOME FLOOR! PROTECT THE HOUSE!

I think the series changed for you guys when Gasol said in Game 1 that KG was nothing but a jump shooter. Last thing I'd do is pump up an Alpha Male team like the Boston Celtics, there isn't a team better in the NBA at pushing and shoving and trash talking. You guys got Kobe, but Bynum, Gasol, etc don't have that intensity and it's showing with Boston dominating the paint after game 1.

Then there's Rajon Rondo, who I think you really have to watch out for. You have virtually no one that can guard him except Bryant. If the C's win, it's because they told their young PG to take it to them.

Rondo, Pierce, Allen and KG still needs to garner attention. You don't have defenders. The C's bench has also outplayed the Lakers bench.

This series isn't over, far from it. Infact, I expect a game 7. But the Lakers are gonna have to take away one of those factors in order to win. And I say, it's the Lakers bench that needs to step up.

Firstly, start Shannon Brown. You need a defender on Rondo, and that defender ain't Derek Fisher. Plus, Derek Fisher gives you a good 3pt shooter on the bench. I'd bench Bynum for Odom myself. KG can't really guard a versatile player like Odom. Odom's bigger, stronger then an Antawn Jamison. Try and wear KG down.

Some suggestions.

Brown is most certainly not the answer. He's a terrible defender and he completely sucks on offense outside of an occasional athletic play.

Fisher is not the one on Rondo anyway. He's primarily responsible for covering Ray Allen who has largely sucked in this series outside of Game 2. I'd rather keep that as-is since Fisher will at least make better decisions on offense, and that's really saying something because Fisher isn't that great of a decision-maker.

The problem with us is that we really don't have any solutions. We've sucked all year at shooting the long ball and right now it's costing us big time.

Artest is being left wide open and has managed to shoot 6-19 from downtown. Never mind all the times that he's passed up open looks because he's afraid to shoot. How do you fix that problem? Well, you don't. Our only other option is to put in Luke Walton, but that's not exactly improving much of anything.

Then you have Derek Fisher who has managed to go 0-8 in the series from downtown. He's really not helping the situation either, but at least Ray Allen isn't going off so it's somewhat acceptable.

I think we're pretty much in bad shape at this point unless our role players step up to the challenge. Kobe and Gasol aren't going to be enough to beat the Celtics, and that's especially true if their teammates make things more difficult on them by not drawing away defenders.

After watching that disgrace of an effort in G5 how can anyone feel good about game 6... Forget all the problems on offense, we pull down some rebounds and get stops we win last game and have two games in which to clinch the title... We need to win the glass. Pau needs to make himself wider and get in better position for defensive boards. How he doesn't realize that at this point I don't know.

I don't know why you Laker fans are all upset. The Lakers will win tomorrow night because the Cs are an old team right? So they will not have their legs in tomorrow nights game therefore all the lakers have to do is pound the boards and you guys will win the game going away. If that doesn't help, I'm pretty sure you guys will get all the calls. The league wants this to go 7 games so look for Ray Allen, KG and my guess Perk to be in foul trouble all night. If I was going to put my money on any team to win game 6 it would be the Lakers. You guys already got game 6 in the bag so my the best team win in game 7.

Hello I live in the real world, and base my conclusions tomorrow at 9pm tip off. Nothing is guaranteed in game 6 its the effin finals. Screw all the ref talk because of course they are responsible for Kobe going off in the 3rd and making Artest and Odom scrubs o they also turned Pau into a vagina.

Key words: Nothing guaranteed.

It'd be nice if our team understood these words

The damn refs better not get involved in this one, but all of us laker fans are not necessarily all upset. If you think of the way home court works in the 2-3-2 format, we still have home court in Sterns odd format and we play much better at home.
