Can anyone name me 1 team that would give Fisher more then the Vets Min?

After that i want everyone to think about this the Lakers have done this the past 2 years
Sold Draft Pick # 29
Traded Chris Mihm for 3 Mil
Hard Balled Ariza
Hard Balled Odom
Hard Balled Bynum
Hard Balled Gasol
Hardballing Phil Jackson
Didnt trade Morrison and another expiring for Hinirch(yes it was on the table)
Yet people here seem 2 think we should pay Fisher more then the vets min give me a break

chill dude we have not resign him yet, so we don't know how much he will get...if he gets more than 2 or 3 I think it would be the affect of kobe's (maybe even gasol/bynum/odom) salary. just imagine this...if you are the GM, how are you gonna offer a guy 1.5 million (vet min) when you just resigned some other dude for $90 million lol

Real simple if kobe opts out and hit the open market some other team would off him 90 Mil. Now answer my question who would offer Fisher more then the vets min?

Sold Draft Pick # 29 - Was no need for the pick, plus we didn't have cash to give anyway
Traded Chris Mihm for 3 Mil - Nothing personal just business, plus Mihm was damaged goods
Hard Balled Ariza - No...no..no, Ariza's agent hardballed the Lakers. You don't hard ball Buss
Hard Balled Odom - Again no, LO yo-yo'd the Lakers for weeks, he screwd himself in the end cash wise
Hard Balled Bynum - No again, dude it's obvious you don't know what a jack ass his agent is
Hard Balled Gasol - They didn't hard ball Pau
Hardballing Phil Jackson
Didnt trade Morrison and another expiring for Hinirch(yes it was on the table)
Yet people here seem 2 think we should pay Fisher more then the vets min give me a break
Dude where in the hell are you getting your stuff from ?

like I said chill man we have no idea how much mitch would give him. the 2-3 million I and some other posters are saying, are sort of just like expecting the worse. though I think it would be really hard to offer a fish 1.5 million, when you just resigned kobe 90 million ( remember he didn't take a pay cut, understandable though) and other scrubs like sasha and luke are making 5 million a year.

fisher isnt worse than shannon brown.

at worst, hes getting the equivalent of a LLE deal and at best hes worth ~half the MLE.

Sold Draft Pick # 29 - Didn't want to give a guaranteed deal to player who probably won't play.
Traded Chris Mihm for 3 Mil Who cares? Mbenga was twice as good and half the price.
Hard Balled Ariza -Yes and Ariza's agent hardballed them back which led to us signing Artest.
Hard Balled Odom - Odom re-signed.
Hard Balled Bynum - Bynum re-signed.
Hard Balled Gasol - Gasol re-signed.
Hardballing Phil Jackson - Jackson will coach as long as his doctor gives him the OK.
Didnt trade Morrison and another expiring for Hinirch(yes it was on the table) HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW IT WAS ON THE TABLE?
Yet people here seem 2 think we should pay Fisher more then the vets min give me a break - Fisher is definitely worth more than the Veterans minimum. Probably about $2.5-3 M a year is not unreasonable at all. His leadership and Kobe's respect for him, along with his clutch play are more than worth it.

This is very simple. Lakers=over the cap for the next 3000 years due to bynum/odom/artest/kobe/pau combo and a couple dirty walton/sasha...but even w/o luke and sasha, we are always goign to be pushing the cap. So if the Lakers offer Fisher 5 mil for a year or 2 mil, the only thing that changes is how much it hits Buss's wallet. Its not like the Lakers are managing NY payroll right now. We can pretty much only re-sign players and add them for the MLE or Vet.

So instead of worrying about how much Fish is going to get, just know it doesnt affect us AT ALL for next year, any moves made would have to be trade or someone biting on a min contract (not gonna happen).

Fisher is one of the most liked guys in any locker room, he has a lot of experience, a lot of leadership (and wants to lead teams) and is trusted by Kobe, other than Pau and Phil, who can say that?

I cannot overstate the amount that Kobe trusts and respects Fisher. He won't ask to resign for 90 million, clam down people. If we let Fish walk over 1-2 mil a season, that's pathetic. Respect for a player that has given the Lakers so much plays a part in all of this as well.

Yes they did resign them but the Lakers are penny pinching mode now cuz of our big contracts people who say how much we pay fisher wont effect other things dont know sports. Every team has a budget the Lakers budget is around 92 Mil we are at what right now 83 Mil that gives us 9 mil to work with. if we over pay for a scrub like fisher lets say 3 mil like everyone else wants while every other team can only willing to pay him 1mil we just handy capped ourselfs from 8 mil down to 6 ontop of that that extra 2 mil we are paying him is really going to cost us 4 mil. Then when we need 2 add players we wont be able to thanks to our budget

We would not have won the championship this year without Fisher.

Really thats why he posted a -5 IE while he was on the court the Celtics scored 5 more points then the Lakers in game 7. Game 5 he went 2-9 with a - 6 game 2 2-8 game 1 3- 8 ontop of that his horrid D if we had an adv starting pg Lakers sweep the celtics. People give Fisher way 2 much credit the guy is the pour pour mans Horry. Not a starting PG in the league or even a 2nd string someone name me 1 player 1st string or 2nd string clearly worse then fisher in the 2 years i have asked that i have yet 2 get 1 name, and dont just look at O look at D as well.

Poor*

Fisher is a leader. He is trusted and respected greatly by Kobe. Does no one else see the importance of those two things?

Lol he can do that from the bench for 1 mil just like every other Laker scrub not tieing up the little money we have left on our budget.

Kobe will not be happy if fish walks over 1-2 mill. The minimum salary he could make is $1,352,181 next season. I say we give him at least 2.5 at most 3.75.

I see the point about overall numbers. Its also tough to see if LA would have won the ring w/o him. On one hand, its clear we did with him. However, if not Fisher, who is he replaced with? Farmar starting and Earl Watson backup? I'll take Fish every day over both of them.

As far as better/worse than Fisher in the league, there are quite a few I could name. Unfortunately, it wouldn't matter because you clearly don't like him or don't want him back, etc. so anyone I name you would rebuke. I mean to me...I'll take Fisher over our own backup PG, Farmar, there's one. Jason Williams is trash and he's the backup in ORL, all day for Fish vs. Earl Watson like i said earlier and Anthony Carter, backup in Den. and in the triangle, my personal list would grow by a couple names, nothing major.

Fisher is our last option in the starting unit and the triangle is never big on assists from one position, with SG and post up players likely getting the most. So what stats do you expect from any other PG? Fisher has a solid shot so aside from the obvious stars like Rose and Paul, etc...who would you expect to do that much more with the minutes Fish gets? Not to mention his defense. Yes he's slow and gets worked by faster guards...just like Nash did...wait...Fisher is smart enough to use his size to counter the speed and does it very well. He's not perfect, but he plays his role well on the court (when you have 5 other major players, how can you expect a 6th? its tough to round up more than 3 major talents and the Lakers have 5) and he is fantastic and nearly untouchable off the court.
