Mike Miller - Wants to play for winner. Mentions Lakers

Post#1 » by The Skyhook » Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:21 am

I know this will definitely make some of you guys happy since his names been tossed around here a lot recently.

I say do it and throw the man the full MLE. If there is concern about Derek not being able fulfill the role of starting PG then bring back Farmar or look to trade Sasha for a starting PG. The 2nd unit would have good ball distribution with Miller because not only can he spread the floor but he can distribute pretty well.

Miller’s brother, Ryan, currently an assistant coach at New Mexico, tells Whitney, “It’s very important for him to find a team that’s committed to winning and winning now.” And Mike reaffirmed the type of team he wants to play for by saying, “Playing with LeBron would be great, playing with the Lakers would be great – just teams that you know are going to be there.” Again, not a category that houses the Wizards.

Would absolutely love Miller. Great backup for Ron and Kobe, and exactly the type of shooter we could use.

Just looking at our salary structure. Whose dick did Luke suck to get that contract? Damn. We're stuck with him for three more years!

He would be ideal. Him and a decent starting point guard and I like our chances at a 3peat.

oo yeah another problem i have with him is we already got Sasha on the team. He is in his contract year so we know he will rain 3's we could use another slash/creater (T-Mac) over something we already have. we cant have 2 spot up shooters on the team.

We can't? Shooting is like size -- you can never have enough. He's an almost perfect fit for one of our biggest weaknesses. He can play both SG and SF, which is a nice bonus. Plus, he's a pretty far cry from Sasha in that he's been a legitimate starter in this league for nearly a decade. Sign him, and we'd never have to play Luke Walton again.

+1 especially on the you can never have too much 3 point shooting. Imagine it raining 3s the way the Suns bench does.

Next to Bryant, Gasol and Bynum, I can't even imagine all the open looks he'd get. Auto-freaking-matic. I think I'd even be able to stomach Fish for another year as a starter if this went down.

as I've said before, out of all the free agents I think miller is the one that has a very high possibility of coming here.

hes exactly what we need: a deadly three point shooter that can play 2/3 spot..I think mitch would make an offer to him

he wont get more than MLE

would be looking to sign with a contender

bffs with pau

He was right there with Korver in that insane 50% range for most of the year on a crappy team....

The other thing I really like about him is he does everything else well. Doesn't need tons of shots, rebound really well, and is a good passer. He's like an upgraded Walton lol. Would be a nice pickup.

Agreed. He'd be well worth the money we'd be shooting his way. With the way we have our Triangle Offense set up, he could very well get some extended minutes at the 1. I would suppose that the remainder of our money could be used on T-Mac and then J-Critt, leaving us with...

Fisher-Farmar-Crittenton
Bryant-Miller-Brown
Artest-McGrady-Walton
Gasol-Odom-Powell
Bynum-Gasol-Mbenga

STACKED! Our bench of Farmar/Crittenton-Miller-McGrady-Odom-Gasol would be unstoppable!

Aint it funny how exited laker fans get with names like felton blake foye while all other teams are talking about lecrab bosh wade amare boozer. Btw ur like the only other person i see who is putting PG over kobe's back up(while we still got Sasha and Brown)

If there were only some kind of package that would land Miller the the Lakers would still have the MLE to go after a PG and a slasher.

I would love for our team to look like this heading into next season.

Kobe/Miller
Artest/T Mac
