ok we all bash the guy saying he is nothing but a benchwarmer. and we all bash jordan for the pick. but is the guy that bad? i remmeber when jj reddick was labeled a bust. either he was too slow or couldn't create his own shot. but he did a complete 180 and is a solid rotation player. Was morrison struggling to learn the triangle? is he bad in practice?

Adam is still a good player. He averaged 11.8 ppg in his rookie year, and thats better than most.
Then he had the knee injury, and was never given a real chance after that.
Hopefully he signs somewhere other than LA so he gets an oppurtunity because he wont get one with the way the Lakers are now.
And Kobe seemed like he was really serious when he said those comments about Adam....he's a good guy and I cant wait to watch him PLAY next year!
BTW I live in Charlotte and am a huge Morrison fan. And the Lakers are my second team even tho they have my two fav players(Morrisona and Kobe)lol

he looked terrible even in garbage time but thats just me, couldnt hit WIDE open shots, couldn't take anyone of the dribble slower then Walton if that were possible. I dont know if he was nervous or what but how can you be when you're in garbage time?

exactly. kobe doesn't seem like the type of player that will co-sign/endorse another player if he didn't see it on a daily basis. i know the lakers have the rings. but do you guys think they should have at least played morrison some to get his trade value up? because it looks like the guy is just gonna walk.

He looked like he still has a lot of skills when I saw him play. He missed a lot of 3's because he hesitated on them but he was automatic when he took someone off the dribble and made a fadeaway

Ammo is a player that was much better pre-injury and might be back to that by now. The problems are he doesnt really fit the lakers offense besides his decent jumper. He would be more successful in an Orlando/GS type setting...however, the guy has some skills but is not overwhelmingly athletic so what came easy in college is not likely to repeat. His movement/jumper help if playing a zone, from what i've seen from him in college vs. pros (i could be wrong on this one) but I think this is just a player that benefited from the college game and can be a solid 8/9 rotation guy for a team with a different offensive style.
Darko Milicic has promise too..but again, the guy has somewhat regressed and its not out of the question that ammo has too with less and less playing time to work on his adjustments, which are mostly mental, needing to get used to the game...which he can't do without playing time.

It's not so much Morrison, it's the expectations that come with being the #3 overall draft pick. Sure, Adam may never cut it in the NBA. There are hundreds of thousands in the same class.
But he's not a world class **** player because he sat on the bench for his entire Laker career. Look at our depth chart, he was never going to be in our plans.
Just remember he did have good showings for us in the summer league. There is still a glimpse of hope for him if he gets a shot elsewhere with little on his shoulders.
Look at Odom. When he's the 1st or 2nd option on a team, the guy lets you down consistently. When he becomes the 3rd, 4th, 5th option; he's invaluable.

But, to the point...
I watch every game, and from the brief appearances of Adam Morrison, I can't really say he looked
terrible. He just simply can't crack the Laker rotation. He may still have some skills (like shooting, he was a GREAT shooter in college), we just don't see it because he never plays.
Kobe gave him a great endorsement on Kimmel the other night when Jimmy was making fun of him. Something tells me we shouldn't give up on him quite yet.
His outrageous contract is finally up. Maybe we could sign him really cheap.

Morrison should go over seas and get a ton of playing time and work on all of his game. He will be on the bench no matter what team he goes to in the NBA. Summer league is a must for him. He sure is not tired like the rest of the lakers are.

I watch him all last summer via the interwebs and dude was gunning. He was no slouch. He actually burned some dudes who didn't get the memo that ummm dude plays against Kobe in practice for a living. Ya know how awesome you have to be to ride the Lakers bench! Well no they didn't get that message and so Ammo dropped some good numbers on a few NBA hopefuls.
So, I just think he needs a lot of playing time. I hope he signs for dirt cheap.

Ammo killed it in the summer league, I think his level of play can flourish with the Knicks lolz. I just see him playing really comfortably with the old Suns run-n-gun offense.

ADAM MORRISON IS THE POSTER CHILD FOR A "GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYER" WHO CAPITALIZED ON BEING THE FOCAL POINT OF TWO PROGRAMS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE...
