Gerald Green

I may be in the minority on this one, but I'd still like to see what this kid could do in the Lakers winning, veteran environment and as Kobe's understudy.
Trevor Ariza had great talent too, but it was not channeled or maximized until he joined the Lakers organization.
I think Green could be a very similar success story or be even better than Ariza down the line. If Shannon Brown does indeed go elsewhere, I think bringing in Green would be an even better idea.
I believe he is under contract with a Russian team, but those contracts can usually be bought out by an NBA team.
I am also very much in favor of bringing in Shaun Livingston as some other posters suggested - especially if there is a coaching change and we look to run more.

I feel like his bb IQ is questionable.
I'd rather have Shannon Brown who's learnt at least some parts of the triangle, with the same athleticism and will to play.

The guy is a natural SF. We just got a solid SF rookie, in addition to having Artest and Walton. I don't think Green would benefit us much.

you're being way too kind. other than his lack of motivation, his low BB IQ is what has kept him irrelevant. That isn't going to change here or anywhere else.

I would rather find someone who can stick around the NBA and not have to go over to Europe. I see at lease Ebanks going over seas. He is no way ready for the NBA. The other will be never signed. So Green can jump, so can all ball players.

Mitch really looked at this kid about 5 years ago when he was coming out of high school and a lot of people thought he was going to be drafted by us.
Then Mitch pulled out a surprise and drafted Bynum. What a great pick.
I don't see Green fitting in with this group specially if Phil will be the coach. His game has not progressed at all as a pro.
Yes. He can jump out of the gym, and he is atheletic, but you need smarts to play for the Lakers and under this particular system.

Wasn't he one of the prospects the Lakers were really interested in 2005 before they took Bynum?

Well - he's getting his chance on the summer league team. I'm very intrigued to see what happens.
I also find it interesting that he chose # 8. Maybe he's dedicating his Laker Summer League performance to Kobe.
This give the summer league some juice to me, especially after Critt bowed out.

Green has had more than a half-dozen shots at making teams and/or being more than a 12th man if he did make it.
Pass.

He would actually be at least $992,680 - you took the 09/10 number.
I see us picking up Green, Sims and Strawberry, but I'd prefer Strawberry, Sims and Sanborn
