he has potential. he did not improve that much between his freshman and sophmore year and he slipped because of it. if kobe can take him under his wing and mentor him i think ebanks could be the steal of the draft.

he even looks a bit like ariza.... i did slip alot in the draft... i was expecting him to go late 1st round... give him some time to develop he may give some production off the bench during the reg season..

I think dude will play a bit because our bench will be depleted. I keep hearing on the net that Buss is gonna cut salaries all around. Players and staff because of the impending lock out. You can't balme him it is a smart business move but bad basketball move.

As prospects, both of them are strikingly similar (borderline identical) in terms of height/weight/frame/measurables/game/appearance. Ariza was a bit more athletic, Ebanks is a slightly better man defender and a better rebounder. Both of them couldn't shoot a lick out of college and both were drafted #43 overall in mediocre drafts (2004, 2010). Ebanks is being humble but the comparison is amazingly accurate. That said, Ebanks, like Ariza, has a long way to go to be a player in this league.
