The Lakers also are expected to enter the picture with a bid for Bosh as it became clear in the Finals they need more scoring. And you can be sure they don’t want to see a LeBron/Bosh pairing in Chicago with Rose and Noah to go against. The Raptors would like to get something in a sign-and-trade for Bosh, but they likely won’t deal him in the East. The Lakers are expected to offer Andrew Bynum, a legitimate low post center, and Lamar Odom, and take back Jarrett Jack, whom the Raptors would like to move.

We'd lose a ton of length and rebounding, the two factors that got us the championship this year.

As much as getting Jack sounds great I still don't think it helps having a PF play C. I really think Bynum is due for a good healthy year I can't imagine a 4th yr with leg problems. It think getting that surgery is really gonna help him.

Its great that we would be getting Jack in return but by giving up two of our bigs? There is so much talk that if we lose just Bynum then we lose that length and become softer but losing LO forces the Lakers to go and find a backup big also. I honestly think it would be best to stick with what we have. Losing both Bynum and Odom will pretty much change the way the team works. It becomes more finesse and a better offensive team but loses that defense. It could also mean Shaq is on his way back to LA.

hell we won the chip with what we got, isnt that good enough and ontop of that almost everybody was suffering (an) injury/injuries

Raptors board was saying that Jackie Macmullan is also reporting this rumor. If the Lakers did actually offer this trade I see no reason why BC wouldn't pull the trigger. Bosh is about to walk for nothing. He would wind up getting Bynum and Lamar. Who wouldn't pull the trigger if the only two options are nothing or Bynum/Odom?

If this happens I think it is more to ensure that the Trio of Bosh,Wade and James does not happen. That also increases our chances of a threepeat. But Bosh and Jack other wise are not worth Odom and Bynum.

Odom and Bynum? hell no.

I would love Jack, but adding Jack does not equal Odom and no one else is offering that much for the mighty boooosh

Bynum is injury prone and 3 years in a row isn't bad luck, it's a trend.

Bynum does not work that well next to Gasol. Not only does he clog the lane at times, but he tends to kill ball movement as well. I think Bynum works great with Kobe, but not great with Gasol and Kobe. That, and Gasol is just as effective at the 5, if not more effective.

Bynum's defense is big time overrated. He's always the last one back on defense, doesn't rotate well, and generally does a poor job of boxing out. His only real value is his length, but some of that value is lost due to a lack of instincts and the fact that he's a lazy defender.

Bynum makes Odom pretty much useless. Odom sucks off the bench, so we're just wasting all of his strengths and using him primarily as an insurance policy, which is great, but replaceable.

Bosh wants to be a 4, and he can be a 4 next to Pau Gasol. He has better range than Pau and IMO compliments him much better than Bynum ever will. The biggest benefit, however, is that it keeps Bosh away from Wade and LeBron while not weakening us in the least. In fact, it makes us stronger.

We get a "decent" PG in return, and that allows us to bring in another role player or two (Miller or Bell) to add a cherry on top.

Of course, none of this will go down. We'll just sit back and watch as other teams get stronger while we pin our hopes on a guy that hasn't been available (or barely available) when we need him most. Meanwhile, we'll completely forget how jacked up our offense has looked because we don't have anyone that can shoot.

Shaq is a nice idea just because, but how do you guys feel about Brad Miller? Could possibly help a little more than Shaq

I may actually prefer Miller/JO over Shaq. I just put Shaq because he's a big mofo and we lose Bynum here.

SURGERY doesn't prevent further injuries....I all for trading Bynum but dam Odom is worth MORE then Jack, Mitch dont do it please!!!! I was an avid Odom hater but I see his importance to the team w/o him our big man rotation is crap even with Bosh/Pau

SAS, enough said, but I cant see us giving away both Bynum and Odom. Maybe Bynum and a filler but not both.

if this were to go down, the lakers could easily use the MLE on a backup big like haslem.

not a huge fan of trading Drew but...if we can do Bynum, Walton and Sasha for Marco B, Jarret Jack and Bosh and pick up a few vets. I would say let's start planning that parade
