Pacers/Blazers interested in Jordan Farmar

The Pacers are interested in signing free agent point guard Jordan Farmar, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.

Indiana has been searching for a point guard for several seasons.

The Lakers elected not to extend the qualifying offer to Farmer, which made him an unrestricted free agent on Thursday.

anything over 2.8 and the lakers don't compete with it.

Lakers aren't even in play for Farmar. I think its pretty clear he wants out and we will let him.

And TJ Ford sucks and doesn't fit.

+1

Lakers are over n done wit him. Farmer wants to run a team, but he has only shows capabilities of a starting guard on a bad team/backup guard on a championship team. well this is a championship team and if he wont settle for a backup role, then he must go. I used to really like his presence on the squad but... good riddance...

To be fair, Farmar was not a triangle player, he needs to run and IND will allow him too. I hope he does well.

no he's not. ford and his 17% 3pt shooting at over 8 mil would suck.

I had a feeling the Pacers would possibly go after him.

Farmar Question

Post#13 » by LApwnd » Thu Jul 1, 2010 5:42 pm

I was wondering if no team offers him a contract does that mean he automatically comes back to us or just means he has no team?

farmar is unrestricted. he goes wherever he gets a contract, there's no automatic about returning to the lakers.

unlikely scenario but what if no teams makes any offers to him, isn't he techincally still have that 1 yr left on his rookie contract?

no, he is an unrestricted free agent. that last yr was a "team option" aka qualifying offer that the lakers declined. farmar has no contract right now.

Triangle just wasn't suited for Farmar. He wanted to run the ball. He just never played defense good enough for the Lakers to be happy and extend a contract to him. My Best wishes for him. I just feel that his talent will blossom on the right team.
