doubt he wants to come off the bench, it'll create unneeded drama

If he comes here for cheap then I would like him here and you know Phil and Kobe won't let him step out of line.

+1

I'm sure tmac is aware that if he goes here he would have to blend in and be a role player.

Any one who follows twitter for real time breaking news is just kidding themselves. I bet it is a fake account by someone wanting to get laughs. Tmac is not what the Lakers need. PG and back up center seens like a more need than a injure prone SF who is pass his prime.

For the vets min. I would look at it. I do not think he would do it.

Vet Min for T-Mac would be a no-brainer and I think he would fit in easily as I think Artest would have no problem coming off the bench with his boy Odom and making the Lakers not just the best gteam but the best bench in the league.

As I said before, he would be wonderful for us at the backup SF spot, since limited minutes and such shouldn't do any harm to his body. He'd be able to do everything that Luke Walton was originally meant to do (and then some). I hope these thanks that he's shipping out turns into a minimum signing.

There is no question that he is a talented scorer and would be very good for us off the bench as a role player.
The problem with him and his being on the Lakers is that he would never agree to being a role player and he is never healthy. His health (and sometimes attitude) make him unreliable. Just ask the Rockets who would ahve given him away for free if they could last year.

I agree with you on the health part. but I don't see the role player issue as a problem. if he signs here that's him agreeing to being a role player. I mean C'mon everyone in the league knows this is kobe's team. if wade signs here he'll be kobe's backup.

Time to tweet the man and tell him to take a big paycut to win some rings.

I just don't see it happening. He was upset with Houston last year because he did not accept the role they had in mind for him. I worry about the chemistry issues he would cause for the Lakers. What we need are role players. Players that are willing to come off the bench, hustle, keep the lead (which we couldn't do last year), and play solid D.
I'm not sure how effective TMac would be coming off the bench. Players like him need to be in the game for a while before their motor starts working offensively.

The reason that t-mac wasn't happy coming off the bench and being a role player for the rockets is cause they do not have the capability to go for championship titles. But signing with the Lakers and knowing that you have kobe, gasol, bynum, odom, artest as your team-mates i'm sure he will be happy to take a step back and contribute what he can coming off the bench....

Rockets wanted T-mac to come off the bench last season to back-up Ariza .... i woulda been upset to!!

but health issues are a concern ... vet min!! do it

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... player.php

"Depends on what team I'm on. What team, what role i'm trying to play. Maybe I'll go to a team where I don't have to be. I don't want to have to do so much. I just want to come in and be able to contribute to what I have. I don't want to be the man that gets the ball, shoots the ball 20 something times. I don't want that anymore."

Would I want to (be a role player)? Whatever it takes to win. I understand I haven't played in a while. If I go to a team that already has that chemistry, that start position, if that's what it is. Hopefully that's not the case. I feel I haven't fell off that much. Whatever it takes to win. That's what I'm all about now. Winning. I don't care about anything else."
