Free Agency makes me appreciate what we have

I just found out that Wade and Bosh are making a documentary about the free agency process. Imagine if the Lakers were without Kobe/Pau and trying to get one of these divas. We'd be bent over by all of them like Chicago, New York, Miami, New Jersey are. Instead, we're just sitting here with a championship without all that drama. Can you imagine the heartbreaks from fans of these cities?

And people thought that Kobe's flirt with the Clippers was bad.

I appreciate what we have here to and that we don't have to go through the craziness that other fan bases are going through right now. However I honestly think that if the Lakers had cap space like some of these other teams then we would be favorites to land the top free agents.

Not just the free agency but I make it a point to watch as many playoff games as I can and when I see these fake-franchise type players like Joe Johnson, Arenas, Dwight it makes me appreciate how valuable Kobe has been for us over the years, taking over games and giving us the scoring when needed in tough situations.

I'm a firm believer that a franchise goes the way its franchise player goes and we are extremely fortunate to have a proven winner with great integrity when it comes to winning lead us year after year.

This is indeed pathetic. They're dragging this out and the attention is ridiculous. The power shift in professional basketball continues.

Now is indeed a time of celebration. Not just the back-to-back, but that we're not backing ourselves into a corner by giving the likes of Joe Johnson $120 million. That right there explains why 2/3s of the league's franchises tread water year after year.

+1 He's a good player but a max contract lol think about it if Lebron doesn't get a sign and trade Joe is making more money than him makes you think, but if Rashard got a max anyone can these guys in free agaency are way better than him so GMs need to be smarter plain and simple

At least he is young and has potential where as Joe Johnson has one good season left before he starts declining (assuming this season, wasn't that one good season left).

Worst Deals of the Summer:

Joe Johnson: 120/6
Amir Johnson: 34/5
Rudy Gay: 80/5
Darko: 20/4
Amare: 100/5

Although the Darko/Rudy have potential for decent deals.

Really? Rudy Gay is a better version of Ariza with no handles and a poor shooting touch that put up 19 PPG on a very mediocre team. I can;t see much potential there when Bynum and Rondo signed much cheaper deals.

Bynum and Rondo were on winning teams though

Both of them were sure to be one of the best in their position then.

Throughout the whole process I've been wondering what legends like Russell, Kareem, Bird, and MJ think about the way these guys have been handling the process and the attention being given to a handful of players with 1 combined championship.

Also, very appreciative that we will likely have our starting line-up return next season. It's been awhile since we've had the same starters from one season to the next.
