Lakers not in Bell's top 3, wow

Post#1 » by Magicontinues » Wed Jul 7, 2010 1:31 pm

According to realgm, that's surprising, we are not even looking at him, I surely hope Mitch doesn't think we can get away with just signing Blake this off season.

Open up your pocket books and help out. I think we will be fine, like Mitch said we are not in the business to make moves just to make them. We have the complete team right now..... maybe a move here and there and we still have a good chance.

We'd be in the top 3 if we had more money to spend... It's just financial... After Blake, his people did the math.

Honestly, i never thought signing bell was necessary at all. I think vujacic will have a great year to his standards, much like he did in 07-08. What we need is a 6 foot 7 or 6 foot 8, 220 pound athletic SG or SF that can create his own shot and drive to the hole. McGrady would clearly be the ideal fit for that need, but a player of that skill set is exactly what i think the bench requires.

I never believed the article that came out saying "lakers are high on bell" anyway.

Lakers are like the hungry man looking into the window, he wants some of that food that is inside but has no money to go in and buy the food.

Unless the Lakers do a trade or something happens. The roster is what it is going to be. A few stars and a lot of no names.

Lakers going to the Fiinals three straight years should be able to attract a few decent Ring Chasers.

Bell, T-Mac, Brad Miller, JO, you guys ready to get fitted for a Ring????

I'd be wary of Bell. He is hitting his mid-30s and missed last year with a wrist injury. Bell may no longer be a lock - up defender or great shooter now.

Plus, I don't see him as a great initiator of the triangle offense. I'd much rather see Brown back or see if we could get a Tony Allen on the cheap.

I'm also intrigued by the defensive potential of Ebanks and G. Green.

Not arguing that what he pulled on Kobe in '06 was BS but pretty sure the two had put the whole situation behind them in recent years. Both going as far as saying publicly they respect each other. I'll look for a link to any video.
Thank you, Phil.

That didn't make sense, if we have the "complete team" then why would we need to "make a move here or there" ?? :o

We don't seem to get any ring chasers here. Jermaine Oneal is thinking of going to Boston, just as Rasheed did last year, they seem to get some, we don't seem to.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
