Yes. Barkley has been a Kobe hater ever since Kobe and Shaq departed. He even said Kobe is not a top 75 player of all time, he said it with a straight face. Kobe averaged 29, 5, 5 in the playoffs yet Chuck thinks he's lost a step when those are the same numbers he's averaged for the last 3 years. He always talking about Kobe needed Shaq and Gasol yet never talks about how Jordan had Pippen and Rodman as well as other very good support players. Last year he said Kobe wasn't even in the top 10 and Hakeem is more dominant than Kobe although Kobe clearly has a better resume, has accomplished more than Hakeem. He probably thinks he's better than Kobe. He even said all NBA players have Kobe's injuries. He still believes even after Kobe has won two titles as the man that LeBron is better even after LeBron went MIA against Boston. He also thought Duncan and Shaq were the players of the decade by far which isn't true. Kobe is the player of the decade or at worst the 2nd best of the decade behind Shaq. Bottom line is Chuck will always hate on Kobe no matter how many championships or achievements Kobe gets.

This has already been beaten to death..

SLAM magazine asked a bunch of random ballers for their opinions too. There's never going to be a clear-cut answer.

just win baby, just win. thats all we need from him. he gets us 17 titles, and he personally gets 6. winning shuts everyone up.

barkley lives on opinions, he goes with whats hot. a lot of people that watched magic/bird and even before them but primarily that era, the 80s leadinginto the 90s with jordan, basketball was popular but rode that popularity to a different level. We are seeing a similar movement with lebron (that could just fizzle out, not much with his game, moreso with his name thats being hyped) and thats why people like mike wilbon will never put kobe ahead of older players because they "impacted the game" but it was at a time when it could be impacted as greatly as it was

so...barkley will always think what he thinks and a lot of ppl wont give kobe his due, either biased over the past players or the new phase aka lebron and not realizing a lot of what lebron is doing, kobe did in his early years too...kobe took a team with luke walton, kwame, smush and odom starting to the playoffs and competed against a ridiculous phoenix team in a western conf that was stacked...no one can name a cavs team that was worse than that starting lineup but everyone says lebron just cant win because he has bad teammates but write off those kobe years as "be careful what you wish for, you cant win alone" instead of "he wished for no shaq, but not almost zero talent back and the man went wild as much as he could"

i'm just going to enjoy kobe while it lasts because there are not a lot of pure basketball players left in the league
