ESPN (Cowheard) reports Lakers trying to get Hedo

This morning while listening to ESPN LA Radio (Colin Cowheard) reported the Lakers are trying to pry Hedo away from Toronto.

I believe calls may have been made but i really dont see Toronto doing this unless we gave up something nice!

With Bosh gone they should be trying to build with Hedo being a major piece of what they are trying to do

Take it for what it is as i have not been able to find anything else on this on the net

I'm not giving up Lamar, I'm not giving up Andrew, and I'm not giving up Sasha. Go screw off Toronto.

They are going to want Lamar. If LeBron goes to Miami we will seriously need some fire power from the arc straight up STEVE KERR style! Mike Miller is going to go to the Heat if Bron does no doubt.

:jawdrop: , you can't be seriously, Tor should build around Hedo? if they take walton/sasha I'll be all for it, both of them dont even add up to 1 decent role player.

What would we want this guy for? Aging, needs the ball in his hand to be effective, not an especially good shooter. The exact opposite of what we'd need.

If we have to give up Sasha and Luke for him then hell yes. Hedo would be huge for our bench. Toronto fans hate Hedo so much that they take Sasha and Luke judging from what I read on the Raptors board. Hedo played with a piss poor attitude on a losing Raptors team but on a team like the Lakers I think his attitude would change. Hedo would still be better than anything else sitting away and wasting away on our bench right now.

i doubt miller wants the vet min, but who knows millers a little bit&h holding out just to wait for lebron to hopefully win the champion, knowing damn well that the champion is staying put in la

Well kind sir if you re-read what i wrote and you quoted i still cant find in there anywhere that says Toronto should build around Hedo.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i can be quoted as saying Hedo will be a major piece to what they are trying to do. Thats a far cry different than building around!

^^^build WITH HEDO sounds the same as building around and you even include the word MAJOR part of building, how does a team do that with such a disappointing player?

Hmm Hedo? I don't know if i like that idea... if it means moving Walton and Sasha then i guess but otherwise no, if Mitch is gonna add a player it should a top tier PG like a Chris Paul or some nice role players otherwise let's just roll with what we got and improve internally. Looks like we may be goin up again the LeWash trio so it should be a very very fun 2010-11 season. I can't wait! 8-)

for walton and sasha............yes. otherwise, i'd rather keep all our main pieces.

the raps are better off moving hedo and starting from scratch since bosh is gone

If we get Hedo for Sasha and Walton, Mitch is a genius.

For starters, from a financial standpoint, we basically get him for free this season since Sasha and Walton won't give us jack anyway and the salaries cancel out. Actually, it would save us money. In the long run, this is still a good deal for us considering Walton's contract is only a year shorter. What's more, Hedo's contract expires the same year that Kobe and Gasol expire, meaning we can sign a new max guy (or two?). This puts us in a fantastic position to continue being contenders when Kobe and Gasol are done.

Secondly, Hedo was fantastic when he was with the Magic. He was the perfect role player for them and did a great job of running their offense. IIRC, he also made a ton of big shots for them. He does need the ball a lot (and he's definitely overpaid), but I think that's a good thing considering we want to take some of those duties away from Kobe and we desperately need someone that can create off the bench.

Anyway, I love this deal if it's for Vujacic and Walton.

cowherd was just trying to prove a point by saying miami cant win it all by just having three all star, they need bench, role players, and coach. so he tryed to booster his argument by saying even lakers are tyring to get hedo. i lilke the guy but he over exaggerates most of the time.

Sasha and Luke. Yes. We also would save a few million if we ditched those two together for him, except we'd have him for along time. He would join Kobe, Bynum and Artest on the 2013/2014 roster. That group of 4 would cost us 68 million.

Oh and Hedo also has a trade kicker.

apparently you guys already debunked this, but i seriously doubt the lakers would give up luke and sasha for hedo. hedo is one of the worst contracts in the league, and trading 5mil on expiring money for him is not good value. TOR would jump all over that.

Cowheard isn't know for breaking sports news it was probably some joke he was doing on his show or just him being sarcastic. And seriously if this is true why haven't Bucher, or Adande jumped all over this even Brousard but he's still got to get his head out of Lebrons ass.
