have so many old players that they haven't renounced their rights to?

Yes it's real, it was cap holds on those guys that's why they're still counted against the over all cap. You can't renounce the rights.

We don't hold the rights to players that have been retired for 5 seasons.

That can't be right b/c Ira Newble has played with teams since the Lakers. Either way, we don't have to pay for them, they just count against our cap during the off-season. Maybe it's to guarantee us the MLE?

The cap holds are because the team deferred payments to those players.

Lol dose it matter we have no capspace anyways so its not like they are going to effect us and remeber they can also be used in S&T

In addition, up to 30% of a player's compensation can be deferred. Deferred compensation is included in team salary in the season in which it is earned, not the season in which it is paid.

When it coms to payroll hoopshype is always accurate I'll rely on them not this link.Also y is blake signed for 7 yrs.

I doubt this is correct, there's no way we are still having these 'count' against us or that we are still paying guys that have been retired for so long.
