MVP Favorites ?
With LeBron joining force with Wade and Bosh in Miami, I don't think he will have a threepeat for the MVP trophy.
My top 5:
1. Durant
2. D12
3. Melo
4/5. Kobe/Lebron

Nope.
No one on the Heat should even receive serious first place vote considerations.

Re: MVP Favorites ?
I have a feeling that Melo will have a great season, maybe challenge Durant for the best 3 in the west.

Well, maybe LeBron. If he average Oscar Robertson like numbers. I think they will have the best record in the league and if he average 20+/9/9, he has a shot.

Re: MVP Favorites ?
james and wade will never be out of the mvp race
if the heat are leading the league and winning against teams by 10-20 points. with james puting up 24-7-7 470 fg% and wade 26-4-4 470 fg%. I don't see why these stats would be out of the mvp race.

Lebron or Durrant, will be a close race this year, I'd give Durrant the edge if his team is in the top 2 in the west, and he scores as well or better than last year.

Highly doubt it.
Please. These guys can win 70 regular season games and it shouldn't matter. Neither of those big 3 will ever bear the responsibility that an MVP candidate should bear. Its Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh sharing the same floor we're talking about here. The award didn't just automatically become the player with the best stats on the best team. So I could care less how fancy Wade or James' stats become, they will always be playing off each other. There is a good reason Shaquille's dominant years spent in LA only accumulated him 1 MVP award.

Re: MVP Favorites ?
Honestly, Kobe's chances have gotten higher... when you consider voters will probably split votes between LeBron and Wade... Kobe, Durant, Paul and Howard should all be in the mix

Re: MVP Favorites ?
IMO, Kobe will be the favorite. The Lakers should have the best record in the league (or 2nd best if the Heat really gel), and that will be good enough to garner strong consideration. What he has to do is stay healthy. The media is going to hold it against James/Wade for playing with each other, I guarantee it, so don't expect either of them to be in the picture. Durant will have to be even better, and unless he's within 5 games of Kobe, I seriously doubt he'll get an MVP over him. D12 won't get it because it typically goes to offensive minded players.
Having said that, I'd rather see someone from the Lakers holding up a Finals MVP award. Screw the regular season MVP.

Re: MVP Favorites ?
Does it really matter who gets the regular season MVP?
Let LeBron get his 3rd consecutive MVP (doubt it willl happen for all the reasons mentioned above)
I'll gladly take our 3rd consecutive title over any individual award

Re: MVP Favorites ?
i have a feeling this is going to be either carmelo or durants year.
With that said, we all have to admit that wade is a great player. But do you think that he will ever win a MVP in his career, especially since he will be locked up with james and bosh for ATLEAST 4 more years

Melo will never be MVP in this league.
It's between Wade or Durant.
Kobe will still get votes just for being Kobe as proven after 6-24 in game 7.

Umm, haven't you noticed D.Wade drops numbers no matter what ? Do you think playing with talented roster will hurt him ?
He led USA Basketball in ppg off the bench on MJ like efficiency.
Plus he was the best vs. Celtics between Kobe & LeBron. Check the numbers.
