realistically who is left?

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Tue Jul 13, 2010 12:45 pm

now that we shored up our biggest weakness with Blake and Fisher our second biggest need is a defensive SG/SF with a deadly 3 pt shot. Miller is gone to the Heat, Bell wont sign with the Lakers, Kapono's contract is too high, Tony Allen is no longer available (+ not a shooter), Reddick is too expensive. who is left? and how can we get him?

Looks like Shannon Brown is the best athletic option but it depends on money of course. I hope he is willing to take less to stay, and with the youth of Ebanks and Caracter (who will be on the team), the last need is a insurance big man. Thats who Im more interested in who Mitch can get...

I thought he was already with the Heat, but he's not apparently so I added him to the list.

I REALLY would love to see Kurt Thomas sign here and I think he'd be interested i mean, we've heard nothing about him leading me to wonder, why are contending teams going after him? He's a quality veteran with enough left in the tank to go for another run or two. We could get him for the vet min. Ilgauskas is solid too but how much will he want?? So I say pick up:

Kurt Thomas and either Raja Bell or T-Mac or maybe... both? Vet min contracts don't count against your lux tax right?

Fisher/Blake/T-Mac
Bryant/Bell/Vujacic
Artest/Walton/Ebanks/T-Mac
Gasol/Odom/Caracter
Bynum/Thomas/Caracter

That's 14 players, leaving us with one more spot to fill, give some young-ish PG a shot like Crittenton or Livingston and I think we're set for a run at a 3peat.
2014: Randle / Clarkson
2015: Russell / Nance
2016: Ingram / Zubac
2017: Top 3 Pick? Fultz, Ball or Bust

Matt Barnes
T-Mac
Shannon Brown

C/Pf
Brad Miller

Shaq wants MLE money at least. He still views himself as an above average player.

He sells tickets still at 38...He's making the team money...If you bring in revenue to a tell you should make more money.

miggs the Lakers won't have a 14 or 15 man roster they're gonna have a 13 man roster. So unless Sasha is traded the Lakers have 2 spots left to fill the SG/SF and the backup PF/C position i'm guessing Ebanks and Caracter will make the roster.

Shooting and defense are nice, but I think the thing we need most is someone who can get to the rim off the dribble in the half court set. I think we need a scorer. I don't know who right now, but someone with that type of game.

While we may not be a great shooting team, I think we are very good and more importantly, have players that don't mind and shoot well in the clutch.

If Kobe would miss time for any reason (hopefully not) who would be able to get to the basket for us with some regularity? And for that matter, Kobe doesn't go to the hole like he used to, either. A slasher who can also defend a little would not only be a welcome addition, but I think an essential one.

I want to say a controversial, old vets name, but I won't let myself...
