Hey, why not? If im not mistaken he is about to turn 29 years old. He is what 6' 9" and a good 210, 220 lbs. He has been hurt most of his career and never quite got to fulfill his potential..If we could sign himj to the minimum I say why not, he always seem to have some game, and has always hovered around 36-38% from the 3 point line when healthy. If given a full healthy season I dont see why he cant shoot around 40% from the 3, just saying lol. This is of course if we cant find a good backup Center.

Pass.

I'd rather have...

Kobe/Brown*/Sasha
Artest/Ebanks*/Walton

He is listed at 6'8 228 and will be 29 next month. I guess he would be a end of the bench player. If not him, there will be a lot of other players looking for a spot to consider.

I posted this a couple weeks ago as well. He can shoot - if we can't agree with Brown, go for him.

Every summer these types of threads come up, are some paying attention to the Laker cap situation?
I guess not, the Laker barely have enough to pay Shannon. Plus Hayes is garbage. Nothing more than an undersize 4, and he's not 6'8" or 6'9".....more closer to 6'6". Plus he is a horrid free throw shooter.

Jarvis Hayes is a shooting guard, slash small forward.

^He played a lot of PF for the Nets last season IIRC.

So did Corey Maggette, that doesn't make him a power forward.

There is a difference between Nellie ball and Hayes trying to play PF after his knee surgery.

Why would he play power forward for the Lakers..I think if they brought him in it would be to play his natural position.

I'm not saying he should play PF on the Lakers and I was just saying that he played PF last season so branding him as a SG/SF is not entirely correct.

Having said that, if he's lost his lateral quickness after surgery (I haven't observed him closely to comment on this), its pretty natural that he will play more PF from now on. Also he's a better than average rebounder.

Damn I was thinking guys were talking Chuck Hayes from the Rockets until I came here again. At any rate Jarvis still sucks, and like j-far said dude is coming off knee surgery too ? Nah........you guys gotta stop blowing a load just because somebody might be available. Some not realizing the Triangle isn't just an offense you step right into to, I mean look at Ron. He struggled in it and he played in it before.

It takes a certain type of guy to be able to step right in and go from the jump.......Jarvis isn't the one.

Actually if Chuck Hayes was available I'd trade for him in a second as long as we don't lose major pieces. He is one of the best post defenders in the league.

Dude was averaging 2 treys and 2 steals a game the final two weeks of the season. He can play and fill his role as a defender and 3 pt shooter. I'd be for it.

He's the farthest thing from defense.

Saw him play alot here in DC......too inconsistent, undersized...plenty of injuries. I dont see a defined role for him.
