Yahoo: Barnes will sign with the LAL unless CLE offers more

Unless Cleveland raises multi-year offer that starts around $3.5M, Matt Barnes will sign a 1-year, $1.7M deal with Lakers, sources tell Y!

Another reason why I don't want him.. using us as a bargaining chip. If he wanted to be here, I'd sign him and have some respect for him.

Don't want him on this team at all. I would rather give the rest of the MLE to Kwame.

I don't like the guy, but he can help us win next year...esp. if we see Miami in the Finals. A one year deal is actually the best case scenario for the Lakers IMO. Terrific news.

Bargaining is part of business, giving yourself the best opportunity for success. Doesn't bother me at all. I think he would honestly be a perfect addition, great news IMO.

Yeah if thats true that's sweet. Not locked into a multi year deal and cheap. He's a good asset for this team. Can hit the 3, and is tough and can guard multiple positions. He's a decent guy to put on Wade, Bron, Mello, Pierce, etc. Good fit imo.

I'd still rather have TMac for the potential, but Barnes is a nice bench piece, big upgrade over last year.

I think he's looking to chase the ring and will continue to chase the ring unless someone pays him 4+ million a year.

i'm sorry but Tmac is done, when even an Org like the clippers couldn't take a chance on him there is something seriously wrong, come on they gave B. Cook a contract w/o seeing him play :lol:

Btw, you must really hate Kobe, Fish, and Odom... among just about every other Laker.

I mean, Kobe dangled the Knicks, Chicago, and CLIPPERS in our face for a few weeks.
Odom had a contract on the table from Riley/Miami last summer.
Derek Fisher went to Miami for a contract offer.

Posturing is business, and I'm very much fine with the players putting pressure on these greedy owners. Stop taking things that don't pertain to fans personal.

i also think that in PJ mind he wants to ron ron in the bench as the season goes by, and barnes would be the guy at the 3

i was already warming up to the idea of getting brown back, now this again, i dont know who i would want at this point

on one hand you got brown thats a crowd favorite when it comes to his dunks and knows the system fairly well, and on the othjer hand you got barnes that will get into guys faces and will compete to the fullest everyday. i just dont know

I got no problem with this move, but Brown does have more potential than Barnes does. Neither are anything special at 3 point shooting, so it's not like The Lakers will lose anything with having Barnes replacing Brown.

Bleh. You know once he is signed everyone will forget all this dilemma during free agency with Matt Barnes. Blake and Barnes is an improvement over Farmar and Brown and that is what everyone will be talking about.
