why the lakers wont get another star

the reason the lakers wont land another 'stud' player like chris paul or carmelo anthony is because these supestars already know that the lakers can win without them. coming to the lakers would make them ringchasers, whereas going to the knicks, bulls, mavs, etc...would put teams over the top...these guys wouldnt feel like theyve done anything here since they would know in the back of their minds that 'the lakers have already won twice without me', therefore, LA will stick to the original gameplan with phil jackson leading the way for one more season, and no changes the next season. i only expect a big signing the year the lakers get dethroned

Or the lack of money or the lack of trade assets or the fact that Kobe doesn't want them. Mostly we don't need them.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they come, they loose respect. If they don't, they lose chance at a ring. As Laker fans, we don't give a damn. The reason why Lakers wont get another star is simply because other stars are not needed. Period.

bro.... if we were to get another star it wouldn't exactly be by their choice (except if they demand a trade) because we have no cap space, and i dont think we will, nor should we trade away bynum.... big guys are few and far between (see team usa's struggles that they are facing now that amare isn't signed up and david lee's injury)

Oh come on, no one is going to make as big as a deal out of it, after what lebron did. Plus we will be trading for the player, he will not be opting to sign with our team for less money just to win

Lakers will do what is best for the Lakers. It is is trading a Bynum and Odom for a Chris Paul, then they will do it. If not. They will stay the course and add a Artest kind of player as the Lakers window is still open but another 3 years or so then they might need to rethink the roster.

I think we should deff be thinking about getting another superstar in the next couple years, maybe 3 or 4. Kobe is not getting any younger, next thing you know he will be 34, 35, 36 years old and on the down slope. We should at least be giving our future somewhat of a thought. I think Carmelo would be a very good replacement for when kobes age catches up with him. it happens to em all.

I'm with you. I have a feeling they are banking on Bynum to be that player you describe. This will be his last season to prove he can stay healthy, if he can't, we will try to make a move next off season. The problem is, if that is the case and we try to trade him, no one will want him because he will finally have the injury prone label with other GMs.

So I'm crossing my fingers that his injuries are behind him. (unfortunately its hard to convince my brain that its true)
