Let's get to know each other and talk about our 5 favorite Lakers of all-time. We're talking favorites here, not best, not most dominant, just favorites.

Mine....

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Shaquille O'Neal
3. James Worthy
4. Pau Gasol
5. Magic Johnson/Kareem

I've never watched Magic, KAJ, and Worthy play live, but I've seen tapes of them and they were awesome, especially Worthy. I've enjoyed watching the Lakers play this decade(2000-2010)though.

Your turn.....

4. Pau Gasol
5. Sasha

I've only watched the last decade, so that's why Kobe and Derek top the list. They've been the only constants.

Sadly, that's the reason why Fisher will never get his jersey retired and same for Byron Scott. I remember analysts like JVG and Jackson debating about how if Fisher were a Celtic, he probably would have had his jersey retired and he wouldn't in LA because LA is more selective on retiring jerseys than the Celtics are.

Well, I've only seen the Lakers since 2002 until now.. Of course I've seen all the NBA's Greatest Games and everything, but that doesn't count.

Kobe tops the list. I first noticed him and I became a fan of basketball after watching him one game. I've been a huge Andrew Bynum since he was drafted and I instantly took a liking to Karl Malone after battling through injuries and trying to gut it out to get a Championship. I was crushed when we lost to Detroit for that sole reason alone. I'll also throw Trevor Ariza and Caron Butler in there. Honorable mention goes out to Odom, Gasol and yes.. Kwame Brown. I wanted him to succeed so bad for some odd reason. Also, him standing over Boris Diaw's fallen body in the playoffs in 2006 was one of my "most hyped" moments as a Lakers fan ever.

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Magic Johnson - He is the man
3. Elgin Baylor/Jerry West/Kareem - Never saw them play in person, but highlights are insane.
4. Derek Fisher
5. Robert Horry

Derek/Horry just gave me so many of my own great Lakers memories that I witnessed live with my own two eyes. I am too bitter towards Shaq and his departure to remember him.

6. Stanislav Medvedenko
7. Ammo
8. Sun Yue
9. Mark Madsen
10. AC Green/Glen Rice/Isaiah Rider

I never saw Magic or Baylor play live, but Magic highlights are insane and I love reading about Baylor and his originality and scoring ability. I wish I could find that interview where Kobe talked about him.

1. Kobe: For all the memories and 13 great seasons in the league. MJ was the reason I picked up a basketball and Kobe is the guy I watched the NBA religiously as a very young kid. I was 10 years old when he got drafted so naturally I followed him through his entire career.

2. Magic: He is a delight to watch when I watch the old tapes and ESPN classic. Always made the outrageous pass look so simple and easy.

3. West: He represents everything the organization stands for and he's had a hand print on everything that's happened with the Lakers right since he associated himself with the organization as a player.

4. Gasol: Just a great guy, so classy, talented, elegant and admirable. Lets his game do all the talking and he grew as a player after he joined the Lakers to become what he is now. The perfect compliment to this team all the way.

5. Shaq: Never seen someone be as physically dominant as him and he gave invincibility a whole different meaning during our 3 peat. It was a treat to watch opposing teams look on in helplessness when he overpowered one center after another. He'll be the last of his kind and the impersonator in Orlando will never come close to the legacy of the original "Superman".
