For one those guys percentages are high because of a small sample size. But damn for the most storied franchise our history lacks many deadly 3pt shooters. Since Byron Scott, who have we had besides Glen Rice and don't say Sasha...

Jumain Jones was a serviceable forward during that season. Chucky was garbage and Radman had his moments but yeah that list is pretty much an indication of how our offensive schemes involve more movement off the ball than need of sharp shooters.

Derek Fisher is also a 37.3% percent career three point shooter. He is #1 for sure on that poor list of players. Forget about the percentage for a second he really has made a lot of big shots for the Lakers. He has been a very consistent three point threat through all those seasons with the Lakers. 4 Titles too all with L.A.

I updated the list to include numbers 6-10 so Derek Fisher got a mention

for the 3 seasons that he played, GLEN (g-money) RICE was by far our best 3 point marksman in lakers history.....
if you watch 98-2000, he was just DEADLY beyond the arc.
one of my favorite glen rice moments was game 7 of the 2000 WCF vs the blazers....i believe it was 81-78 in the 4th quarter with just a couple of minutes left, until glen rice hit the game tying 3 to make it 81-81, resulting in a crowd-burst, and leading the lakers push to win the series.
one of the best moments ive seen since he was my favorite player for a very long time.

IMO, Glen Rice was overrated in terms of being a deadly marksman... Maybe i just had higher expectations...

Forget the list, the Posters here are disturbing. Derek Fisher 4 titles? Glen Rice 3 seasons?
Man people need to get a subscription to basketball-reference around here. Disturbing lack of knowledge.
On Glen Rice, guy's a 43.4% Three-point shooter coming into LA and then under-performs at 37.6%
Imagine if he would have been on top of his game nailing 43 or 44%?

As I was reading the new posts in the thread, that thought came to mind. Derek Fisher is one of the most consistent 3 point shooters we've had IMO and his "clutchness" bumps him up on that list. Fisher also shot 61% from three in the 02/03 playoffs and had multiple +40% playoffs. Although he did tank two years ago in the playoffs (26%), last year he shot a solid 36% and we all know how he came up clutch from the field in some important games.
I feel like Robert Horry deserves a mention in this thread too, simply for those shots in the 2000/2001 playoffs. Big Shot Bob. He wasn't a prolific 3 point shooter for the Lakers, but to have a thread about it and not mention him didn't seem right to me.

Not surprised by that list, but before opening this thread the name that popped right into my head was Byron Scott. He always hit timely 3-pointers for us, despite not having the best of percentages.
